The Producer must be a top-notch communicator with exceptional relationship management skills, both with external and internal parties, and the ability to effectively attract senior-level executives to participate/speak at our events. The ideal candidate is a self-starter and strong project manager who is undaunted by constant multi-tasking, and possesses exceptional creativity and a devotion to deadlines. Motivation and the ability to work independently is a must to see the project through to the end.
The expectation is that the conference producer will produce eight to ten 2-day events per year. Please note the number of events may be decreased if the producer is managing several larger events with substantially higher revenues expectations.
Responsibilities and Duties
Conduct in-depth, phone based interviews with senior executives to identify current market trends and challenges
Prepare a strategic research questionnaire and conduct a substantial telephone research campaign independently
Research new exhibition/event ideas and check for their suitability in the relevant market
Identify the prospective exhibitor, visitor or conference delegate for the event, identify the industries for the visitor and potential job titles
Collate background information for each new topic idea, including competitive or similar events
Create compelling program agendas based on your research
Identify and recruit of best-in-class speakers to address the audience, draft invitation letters, gain commitment and work with speakers on expectations on their engagement
Write marketing summaries and sales copy
Write and collaborate on all promotional material creation (except graphic art)
Manage conferences on-site to meet delegates and presenters expectations
Perform other duties as assigned by the Team Leader or Division Director.
Qualifications and Skills
Superior phone research skills
Project management skills - excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet multiple deadlines
High energy and the ability to succeed amidst multiple deadlines
Proficient with Microsoft Word, Powerpoint and Outlook
