Responsibilities

Humana's Marketing Organization is seeking a Communications Lead to join the Corporate Communications team. The Communications Lead, Insurance Services is responsible for developing and executing integrated internal communications strategies that enable Humana's growing Insurance Services business.

This individual is a strong collaborator and strategic advisor who creates smart communications strategies and detailed roadmaps, giving employees the knowledge and inspiration they need to provide exceptional customer experiences. The Communications Lead partners closely with business leaders to help employees navigate change, using engaging communications that promote a positive culture and employee experience.

Key Role Functions   

  • Develop narrative and segmented messaging for diverse audiences, including frontline call center employees, to help create a positive employee experience within Humana's largest business segment, Insurance Services

  • Extend the reach of consistent, authentic and motivating messaging across respective business areas to engage employees and advance business priorities with a focus on Consumer & Provider Services and Solutions (CPSS) within Insurance Services

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including corporate communications and CPSS business executives and leaders, to build employee engagement during organizational transformation, helping to position changes appropriately and reach segmented internal audiences with relevant information

  • Bring Humana's strategy to life through new and existing communications channels and events, using creative multimedia content and compelling storytelling packages that promote employee understanding of Humana's purpose, culture, employee value proposition, and insurance business

  • Build strong alignment with cross-functional colleagues, including other corporate communicators and CPSS leadership, on internal communications strategies and content prioritization

  • Leverage data, analytics and feedback from stakeholders to inform strategy and decision making

  • Work in close collaboration with external vendors and partners to deliver against communications plans and goals

This is a remote role working anywhere in the U.S. and may require quarterly travel.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations or related field

  • 8+ years of employee communications or public relations experience with proven expertise in change communications

  • Strong working knowledge of business operations to inform and empower varying audiences

  • Experience and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies and tools

  • Adept at data and analytics, as well as emerging practices and technologies

  • Self-organized - can independently plan, lead and implement integrated communications projects

  • Ability to work under tight deadlines, multitask and deliver quality work under pressure

  • Exceptional written communications skills and deep experience as a content creator

  • Proactive, flexible and always seeking improvement and positive change

  • Ability to influence

  • Foster an open, inclusive and diverse community at Humana

  • Advanced skills using O365 suite, including Teams and SharePoint

Preferred Qualifications

  • Education or Certification in Organizational Change Management

  • Experience at large, matrixed corporate organization with diverse stakeholder groups

  • Previous experience in project management

Additional Qualifications

All Humana associates approved for the Home or Hybrid Home/Office work styles are required to self-provide wireless, wired cable or DSL access to the internet at the connectivity speeds required by the company to successfully perform their job with the exception of associates who live or work from home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota. Connectivity requirements are detailed below.

Connectivity - Requirement Details

  • To ensure Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates' ability to work effectively, the self-provided internet service of Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates must meet the following criteria:

  • At minimum, a download speed of 25 Mbps and an upload speed of 10 Mbps is recommended to support Humana applications, per associate.

  • Wireless, Wired Cable or DSL connection is suggested.

  • Satellite, cellular and microwave connection can be used only if they provide an optimal connection for associates. The use of these methods must be approved by leadership. (See Wireless, Wired Cable or DSL Connection in Exceptions, Section 7.0 in this policy.)

  • Humana will not pay for or reimburse Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates for any portion of the cost of their self-provided internet service, with the exception of associates who live or work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota. Associates who live and work from Home in the state of California, Illinois, Montana, or South Dakota will be provided a bi-weekly payment for their internet expense.

  • Humana will provide Home or Hybrid Home/Office associates with telephone equipment appropriate to meet the business requirements for their position/job.

Covid Vaccination Policy

Our company requires vaccinated associates who work outside of their home to submit proof of vaccination, including COVID-19 boosters. Associates who remain unvaccinated must either undergo weekly negative COVID testing OR wear a mask at all times while in a Humana facility
