State of Massachusetts Communications and Training Manager in Boston, Massachusetts

_COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS_ * AGENCY – Massachusetts Office on Disability POSITION TITLE – Communications and Training Manager * _ANNUAL SALARY_- $60,000.00 - $70,000 w/ Comprehensive Benefits Package MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES * Communications * Design and implement a comprehensive communications strategy that supports the agency’s public-facing operations unit and other agency needs * End to end management of communications workstreams and projects, in close collaboration with other agency units * Collaborate with cross-functional teams to produce relevant collateral, such as printed materials, web content, and social media content * Coordinate and oversee existing social media channels (Twitter and LinkedIn) and identify opportunities to appropriately deploy MOD’s social media presence, including tools to support communications (e.g., Hootsuite) * Monitor and share daily news and social media mentions relative to MOD and disability rights issues * Establish strong working relationships with communications leaders at other state agencies and key external stakeholder organizations * Develop theme and content for annual report; write and manage its production, socialization, and distribution * Training * Develop training curriculum on ADA and other disability-related issues for various MOD stakeholders, including state agencies, municipalities, businesses, and members of the public. * Coordinate and manage trainings developed and presented by MOD staff, including providing direction on training content, presentation style, and marketing. * Other duties * Provide communications and other support at MOD events * Other tasks as assigned   QUALIFICATIONS Preferred Qualifications * Knowledge of disability rights laws and issues affecting people with disabilities * Strong, demonstrated experience developing and driving execution of traditional and digital communication strategies, in close collaboration with agency colleagues  * Strong, demonstrated experience developing a curriculum and presenting in a classroom and/or webinar setting. * Ability to develop and deliver engaging communications content that communicates the resources offered by MOD to various stakeholders * Demonstrated proficiency with social media management and campaigns, including familiarity with content management systems and analytic platforms such as Google Analytics, Hootsuite, and Constant Contact * Graphic design capabilities and proficiency with the Adobe Creative suite are a plus * Experience with and proficiency using web-based meeting and collaboration platforms, including Zoom and Microsoft teams   Professional Skills * Creative, quick thinker with excellent communication (written and oral) and interpersonal skills * Willingness to learn and take initiative * Collaborative and professional demeanor * Willing to be a team player * Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects across teams * Collaborates effectively with a wide diversity of stakeholders across state agencies and interest groups * Continually learns and applies best practices, including upholding MOD editorial standards and accessibility guidelines * Familiar with planning and estimating work, including development of goals and targets Application should include the following: 1) Cover letter; 2) Resume; 3) Writing sample (no more than three pages); No phone calls please. * MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must have at least (A) four (4) years of full-time or, equivalent part-time, professional, professional internship, administrative, supervisory, or managerial experience in business administration, business management, public administration, public management, clinical administration or clinical management or (B) any equivalent combination of the required experience and substitutions below. Substitutions: I. A certificate in a relevant or related field may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience. II. An Associate’s degree in a related field may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience. III. A Bachelor’s degree in a related field may be substituted for two (2) years of the required experience. IV. A Graduate degree in a related field may be substituted for three (3) years of the required experience. V.
