State of Massachusetts Communications and Outreach Manager in Boston, Massachusetts

The Executive Office of Elder Affairs (EOEA) is seeking a mission-driven and dynamic individual to fill the Communications and Outreach manager position. In this role, the Communications and Outreach Manager supports critical aspects of the agency’s mission by advancing the communication and outreach to older adults and their caregivers, allowing older adults to thrive in the communities of their choice. The incumbent will support the Director of Communications and Strategic Initiatives by advancing communications, outreach, research, and strategic planning in key areas that impact older adults and family caregivers. The selected candidate must bring expertise in communications, marketing, and outreach; coalition building; stakeholder relations; strong analytical and communication skills; and the ability to manage multiple projects at any given time. _Duties and Responsibilities (these duties are a general summary and not all-inclusive):_ * Lead the agency’s work to understand the consumer and caregiver experience with the aging network, including the coordination and tracking of information from consumers contacting the aging network, developing recommendations to improve the consumer experience and supporting the ongoing monitoring of the consumer and caregiver experience. * Coordinate aging network rebranding, including working with program directors to inventory the agency’s public facing print materials and working with the aging network, including the Aging Services Access Points (ASAPs) and the Council on Aging (COAs) to better understand the current landscape of the aging networks’ marketing materialsand other communication and outreach assets. * Assist the Director of Communications and Strategic Initiatives in developing a new brand for the agency, including logo, mission statement, public facing print materials, and overall aging network messaging. * Work with the Director of Communications and Strategic Initiatives, Chief of Staff, and other agency leaders in the creation an agency style guide to ensure consistent messages throughout the agency for public facing materials. * Promote the agency through print digital platforms through the creation of graphics and other assets for social media and other digital use, including social media strategy and plan. * Provide PowerPoint, flyer, and written material copy editing and other supports for agency programs and strategic initiatives. * Collect and distribute press clips and other media coverage to leadership. * Draft talking points and presentation for agency leadership, including the Secretary, Deputy Secretary and other executive team members with drafting of talking points and scripts for speaking engagements. * Other Duties, As Assigned. _Preferred Qualifications_: * Knowledge of graphic design, social media, and/or marketing (digital or print). * Knowledge of the aging network, including program and services offered by the Executive Office of Elder Affairs, Aging Services Access Points and Councils on Aging. * Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint is required. Ability to rapidly produce PowerPoint decks and visuals to aid in meeting facilitation and communication is preferred. * Excellent writing, interpersonal, and communication skills, including the ability to facilitate a meeting towards a certain objective or outcome. * Ability to manage a project or program from strategy through execution with the ability coordinate across various internal and external stakeholders. * Ability to manage up and proactively check-in with supervisor to communicate progress, ask clarifying questions, and align on next steps. * Ability to leverage senior leaders and subject matter experts in a way that drives towards an established objective, including aligning on a recommendation or advancing a deliverable. * Ability to bring enthusiasm, initiative, and dedication to a variety of tasks and projects - being a true “team player.” _To Apply:_ Please upload both Resume and Cover Letter for this position when applying. _About the Executive Office of Elder Affairs:_ The Executive Office of Elder Affairs (EOEA) is responsible for the development and management of a comprehensive network that provides services to thousands of older adults and persons with disabilities. Substitutions: I. A certificate in a relevant or related field may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience. II. A Bachelor’s degree in a related field may be substituted for two (2) years of the required experience. III. A Doctorate degree in a related field may be substituted for four (4) years of the required experience.
