Purpose of the job:
The main focus of this role is to promote research collaboration and program management with key major research institutions on the East Coast, particularly Harvard University . The mission is to deepen Elsevier’s relations with researchers; and senior with research leaders by providing support into research performance and facilitate strategic projects/events at these institutions. This role can be based out of Boston (ideally) or NYC and will report to the Sr Vice President of Global Academic Research.
Responsibilities & Activities :
To provide support and program management of Elsevier’s key research partners and to support introduction of key software tools;
Build strong relationships with targeted faculty researchers and an understanding of their research focused activities with the goal of identifying opportunities for Elsevier to collaborate on joint research projects and initiatives.;
Help to initiate, design, implement and deliver strategies and programs to further develop Elsevier partnerships with Harvard and other institutions in collaboration with GSN leads;
Support staff & researchers involved in our collaborations utilizing Elsevier tools; interpret results;
Report on the programs/events; identify, solve and escalate challenges as needed;
Serve as the primary point of contact for Elsevier and partner collaborations and inquires;
Support and help to manage the overall program on a day to day basis, ensuring that the program is delivering on mutual expectations;
Ensuring internal and external stakeholders are identified, informed, and prepared for upcoming events;
Participate in helping plan and organize events;
To work with Analytics and Program Management to help to support the US collaboration programs – learning about tool and process implementation and to provide follow-up in an efficient and effective manner;
To work strongly with GSN and other stakeholders and within the RCU to coordinate the product evaluation partnership program.
3-5 years successful project or program management experience, preferably within an academic, research, science, technology or bioinformatics environment
Strong relationship management capabilities
Demonstrated ability to network with internal and external organizations to identify appropriate stakeholders to achieve program results
Strong communication and collaboration skills
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; some event planning experience is desirable
Strong ability to execute on program details; providing operational accountabilities to both internal & external teams
Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills
BA/BS in Science or Economics preferred
