Bank of America Channel Development Manager - Data Analytics in Boston, Massachusetts

Job Description:

Seeking a Channel Development Manager - Data Analytics who can provide both strategic and operational reporting capabilities to support the Distribution Strategy team. Our team is responsible for the development of physical distribution strategy for Consumer Bank with a 3 year time horizon. We work to align investment plans with the Bank’s risk appetite and comply with key regulations including the Community Reinvestment Act and Fair Lending.

This role requires a combination of technical data analytic reporting skills combined with understanding of business acumen and intuition to create and maintain mission critical reports for both tactical daily operations and senior level executive decision making. The right candidate will bring a positive, can-do attitude, be highly collaborative, and able to build relationships with data owners at all levels across different lines of business. A strong demonstrable working knowledge of Excel, VBA, SQL queries, and Access is required. Tableau experience is a plus.

Responsibilities :

  • Identify data sources and compile/mine data from a variety of systems, understanding the data relationships from various systems of record

  • Perform reconciliation and consolidation of data, building base sets of information, and connecting disparate system information

  • Take ownership of maintaining gathered data through connections with the originating source, understanding changes, and troubleshooting errors that may arise

  • Work to become a comprehensive subject matter expert on gathered data and the function of the sources by developing a deep understanding of how data impacts decisions within the Bank

  • Develop strong working relationships with data owners to stay abreast of source data changes in a highly collaborative manner; Proactively implement reporting and analysis updates based on data changes

  • Perform data quality reviews and communicate with data owners on any issues; work with data owners to request changes that will facilitate reporting and analysis efforts on our team

  • Respond to requests for specific, customized reports, working with users to define business requirements and analytical needs

  • Use datasets and queries to generate, maintain, and distribute both routine and ad hoc reports

  • Take initiative to look for areas to improve reporting and provide independent analysis that can benefit functional project teams

  • Adjust reporting and analysis outputs as strategic decisions shift and priorities change

  • Understand the complex relationship of data flowing through all of our team’s reporting in order to maintain consistency

  • Maintain reporting process documentation and cross-train on all team reporting and analysis functions

Requirements :

  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in banking or related field

  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in data collection, reporting, and data analytics

  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience using queries and VBA to maintain and manipulate datasets

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including VBA, Named Ranges, and complex formulas

  • Advanced Microsoft Access skills including VBA, SQL/Union queries, and managing Linked Tables

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to succinctly convey information

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving and research skills

  • Ability to multi-task and quickly shift priorities

  • Knowledge of Tableau is a plus
