Wayfair Category Manager, Luxury Brands in Boston, Massachusetts

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">We’re seeking highly analytical, passionate, entrepreneurial individuals who thrive in diverse cross-functional environments to join the Perigold Category Management team. In this role, you will be expected to define overarching goals and strategy within your categories, problem-solve, articulate and execute against business plans, own supplier relationships, onboard new suppliers, and manage key business metrics. Category Managers must be able to expertly negotiate internally and externally, while also being effective project and team managers. We are scaling rapidly and are focused on expanding our strategic capabilities to support our growing business.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-weight: 400;">Joining the Perigold Category Management team offers a unique opportunity to drive strategy for Wayfair’s newest brand, targeting the luxury home market. We are focused on providing an unparalleled assortment of luxury home goods through an elevated online shopping experience for our customers. We do this by connecting the best brands with our luxury customer while working on product curation, brand marketing and storytelling, building a best-in-class site experience, and providing best-in-class service and delivery. We serve as ambassadors for the categories we manage by identifying and solving unique customer and supplier challenges. Internally we partner with various teams including Profit Management, Merchandising, Partner Operations, Marketing, Brand and Curated Merchandising and Promotions to bring the Perigold vision to life.</span></p>

<p><strong>What You'll Do</strong></p>

<ul>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Have ownership over a category plan to achieve revenue and profitability goals</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Build strong relationships with existing suppliers and execute negotiations to secure best pricing and promotional support</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Onboard new suppliers and getting them excited about the Perigold potential and invested in growing the partnership</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Analyze data to strategize profit growth opportunities for the category and for specific supplier partners</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Advance catalog expansion by identifying selection gaps, prioritizing new item production, and developing relationships with target suppliers</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Identify sales, merchandising, and operational opportunities for the category and collaborate with internal teams to drive change (Planning, Advertising, Merchandising, Operations, PR, Finance, Customer Service, Business Intelligence)</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Analyze and anticipate competitor marketing, selection, and pricing strategy</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Attend trade shows to visit key suppliers (4-8 times per year)</span></li>

<p><strong>What You'll Need</strong></p>

<ul>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">5+ years of ecommerce, corporate retail, or management consulting experience, preferred</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Articulate and persuasive communication skills, both written and verbal</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">A track record of successful negotiation and relationship management skills</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">An ability to hit the ground running – a confident, entrepreneurial self-starter</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Demonstrated senior presence, recognized as an effective manager</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">An ability to manage and prioritize projects and to delegate tasks appropriately</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Innovative problem-solving skills – dissect and determine root causes of problems and implement solutions</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Proven experience of taking on big challenges and delivering despite obstacles and limited resources</span></li>

<li style="font-weight: 400;"><span style="font-weight: 400;">Experience managing others, preferred</span></li>
