As the Business Manager for US Marketing & Operations (M&O), you will report directly to the Director of Business Management in the office of the Corporate Vice President. We seek a highly resourceful, self-driven individual with the ability to partner, execute, and lead through influence. The ideal candidate leads by example, has sound business judgement and problem-solving expertise, and has effective communication, interpersonal and project management skills.

This role will have regular contact with senior leadership, and demands strong business judgment, accountability, and professional demeanor.

Responsibilities

  • Partners with the leadership team to develop and execute planning processes, ensuring coordination with corporate planning processes as well as planning integration across the broader organization.Helps in managing the team's rhythm of business (ROB). Works with cross-company/team counterparts to manage team participation as needed for key business events, next fiscal year planning, running business reviews, and other strategic business planning activities. Collaborates with the leadership team to articulate objectives that are in alignment with the goals of the organization.

  • Leads collaboration across the MSUS M&O Business Manager community and connections with peers across the company.

  • Commits to generate and protect Microsoft trust by modeling integrity every day and contributing to ethical sales and sustainable growth.

  • Supports budget management for the M&O Strategy, Compete and CPE team and partners closely with finance on broader M&O team accountabilities.

  • Contributes to cross-team projects as needed to meet the changing business environment and manage business needs. Engages in well-defined projects/programs while executing aspects of projects/programs for larger areas, including work on strategic efforts that require hands-on experience which may be across multiple disciplines.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field (e.g., Liberal Arts, Business Administration, Management, Computer Science) AND 6+ years' experience in financial management, business planning, operations management, strategy, project management, human resources, or business-related roles

  • OR equivalent experience.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience and deep knowledge within Sales Excellence, Business Planning, Sales Operations, and/or Finance

  • Executive exposure and cross-functional stakeholder management

  • Focus on providing process optimization by understanding the desired business outcome

  • Deliver end-to-end deep data analysis and actionable strategic insights

  • History of driving operational discipline as well as innovation

  • Ability to work and build strong relationships with senior managers

  • Must have proven skills in financial, marketing, and IT management

  • Advanced oral and written communication skills, planning and organizational abilities

  • Intermediate conflict resolution and negotiation skills

  • Must be able to work independently, handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, and negotiate and collaborate effectively

  • Must be highly analytical, able to understand business metrics, customer and market trends

The salary for this role in the state of Colorado is between $125,000 and $187,700. At Microsoft, certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including annual bonus and stock. These awards are allocated based on individual performance. In addition, certain roles also have the opportunity to earn sales incentives based on revenue or utilization, depending on the terms of the plan and the employee’s role.
