Ascensus Business Development VP - Pooled Plan Specialist in Boston, Massachusetts
Section 1: Position Summary
Facilitates growth of Pooled Plan sales through Financial Professionals, RIAs, Broker/Dealers, DCIO Firms, and HR Outsourcing Firms (PEOs, ASO, etc.), by consulting with field RVPs, Internal Sales, SBC and Business Development teams, and Sales Leadership to increase production through product knowledge, consultative/needs-based selling, as well as assisting Financial Professionals during the prospecting stage and attending sales calls as requested.
Section 2: Job Functions, Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Acts as a subject matter expert/consultant for Ascensus in pooled plan market
Manages and executes pooled plan strategic business plan in collaboration with leadership and pooled plan team
Develops a strong network of advisors, consultants, plan sponsors, and other third-party intermediaries that are focused on the retirement industry-- specifically pooled asset and multiple employer plans
Establishes and maintains productive, working relationships with Financial Professionals with the goal of earning their retirement plan business
Knowledgeably discusses industry trends with Broker Dealers, RIAs, DCIO Firms, Associations and Consultants and high-end DC focused Financial Professionals
Strong knowledge of key competitors with the ability to position our competitive advantages
Ability to learn multiple platform/product solutions; assist Financial Professionals with a needs “analysis” to ensure recommending the appropriate solution
Partners with field/internal sales (RVPs, ISCs, SBCs) to achieve sales goals in accordance with company objectives
Coordinates wholesaling efforts with Ascensus sales team to maximize coverage and effectiveness
Builds relationships and collaborates with internal leaders across organization to maximize efficient work process and continued evolution of pooled plan product offering
Participates in industry events and hosted sponsor events to increase Ascensus brand as pooled plan leader, innovator, and subject matter expert
Remains current on industry, technical and product knowledge.
Assists existing employers and Financial Professionals in the retention of current business (as needed)
Presents large seminars/webinars
Strong working relationships with DCIO firms in region to promote our solutions to Financial Professionals
Participates and leads Finals presentations
Completes management reports, expense reports and other special tasks as requested.

Works in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a high degree of urgency and accuracy
Works under pressure to meet strict due dates/timelines; may work overtime with limited advance notice.
Regular, reliable, and punctual attendance
Protects, secures, and properly handles all confidential data held by Ascensus to ensure against unauthorized access, improper transmission, and/or unapproved disclosure of information that could result in harm to Ascensus or our clients.

Section 3: Experience, Skills, Knowledge Requirements
Minimum of 7 years’ experience in the retirement plan industry
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a wholesaling or institutional sales role in the retirement plan industry with proven success record.
Proven successful sales experience of full service defined contribution recordkeeping and administrative services
Detailed knowledge of MEP, PEP, GoP, Exchange and other pooled solutions

- Series 6 and 63 (or the ability to obtain within six months of employment)
