This position will focus on strategic sales and engagement. The position will work with some of the world’s leading brands to understand their event objectives, audiences and challenges, and then deliver smart, strategic, results-driven sales recommendations to engage sponsors and create an opportunity for partners to compliment our clients event goals. This position will be the primary sponsorship lead role for partner outreach for both proprietary, consumer and b2b conferences. Essentially, we are looking for this role to lead our team in action with the client, we expect the client to view us as an extension of their team and therefore requires managerial skills and executive interaction. In most cases these programs attract over a 100+ exhibitors/sponsors, and revenue goals are between $1M-15M per program and execution of deliverables for 20-300 partners on site as well as creating and activating a re-sign program for the next year for all partners. The position will manage multiple projects per year in varying capacities and may work on projects independently or as part of a larger team.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Manages relationships with Strategic Global Accounts.
Records all contact and activity in Salesforce.
Responsible for the development and/or creation of sales materials—prospectus, PPT presentations, etc.
Responsible for sales communication plans, timelines and writing all sales communications.
Assists with formulating sponsorship sales strategy and pricing models with team lead and client.
Sells packages to sponsors.
Actively makes sales calls both via email communications and direct phone conversations.
Writes contracts as appropriate for each account.
Creates invoices for each account.
Follows up on collections for each account.
Re-configures Salesforce as needed to more efficiently manage accounts and report progress.
Maintains sales dashboard showing sold and pipeline. Also responsible for creating all sales dashboards and reporting on this weekly.
Participates in weekly internal and client facing calls.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination
Minimum 3 years in the sponsorship sales space within the corporate events industry
Must have event specific sales background
Must have proven knowledge of Salesforce/minimal 2 years-experience
Knowledge of Technology space
Large package selling experience
Excellent Microsoft Excel skills
Excellent PPT skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with proven ability to present to a wide range of audiences
Strong analytical approach to problem solving
Roll up your sleeves and get the job done mentality
Preferred experience with both large enterprises and startups
Excellent organizational skills
