JOB SUMMARY

The Business Development Director for the Nucleic Acids Business Unit will lead the growth of Arranta’s mRNA client-base and continuously expand new business opportunities with new and existing customers. They will grow Arranta’s direct sales of the mRNA and other related products/services by establishing relationships with bitoech, life sciences, and pharmaceutical companies and customers. The individual must be an inquisitive self-starting Business Development Professional who will cultivate leads by understanding the needs of the customer and industry, close business through effective communication of Arranta’s ability to deliver, and maintain client relationships through seemless transitions to operating teams and delivery of follow-on opportunities.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Accountable for the growth of Arranta’s mRNA pipeline and closure of new business. Identify, prospect, and close new and follow-on business opportunities.

Research, indentify, investigate, and develop new business opportunities through cold calls, trade shows, conference, and various other means.

• Achieve individual, business unit, company sales targets. Establish, track, and deliver KPI for sales.

• Acquire and provide mRNA market information to management and key stakeholders, including information about customer needs for service offerings

• Build new strategic contacts, networks, and business relationships

• Negotiation of contracts/agreements and coordination of Request for Proposals (RFP) response across Arranta and with prospective clients

• Transparently track and communicate progress on new and existing customers with the Arranta leadership team

• Accompany and/or host customers for onsite company visits/audits

• Attend and represent Arranta at selected industry meetings and conferences

• Work with internal stakeholders in manufacturing, process development, project management, engineering etc. to facilitate successful proposal issuance, negotiation, and hand-off of closed business to operations

Required Experience:

  • Proven sales/business development track record

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or related, Biochemistry, Immunology

  • Molecular Biology, Microbiology or related life science major is required.

  • 3+ years Sales/Business Development experience

  • 5+ years’ experience in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry

  • Key account and territory management experience with academic, biotech/pharmaceutical life science customers.

  • Needs an understanding of the pharma market initiatives and preferably having previous relationships with researchers in these accounts.

  • Must have excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Results driven, passionate, go-getter

  • Must be able to build relationships through networking and referrals.

  • Polished individual with strong delivery and closing skills

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Remaining in a stationary position (i.e., seated or standing if able) for prolonged periods

  • Travel is required for this role
