SMX C5ISR Solutions Business Unit is seeking an experienced and accomplished Business Development professional to add to the growth in the C5ISR portfolio. The C5ISR Business Development Professional will be responsible for identifying and developing opportunities in these market areas as well as assisting the technical and business leadership in understanding the existing and emerging requirements in order to ensure proper positioning of the business to be able to respond.

The successful candidate will foster collaboration within the business unit as well as across the corporation as needed to execute the responsibilities outlined below. The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying and developing opportunities from their assigned market. The candidate will be responsible for communicating the business capabilities and market offering to the customers as well as educating and communication the business leadership on the customer requirements, capability gaps, funding position, organizational makeup, leadership philosophies, and identifying key stakeholders within the organizational structure. As a Business Development professional you will be responsible for developing targeting marketing strategies, developing marketing material ranging from ppt briefings to cutsheets, responding to RFIs, and working with technical teams to develop capability and solution briefings.

This position reports to the BU Director of Business Development.

Responsibilities

  • Develop strategy for capturing both short cycle and long range larger opportunities

  • Act as the primary subject matter expert on the assigned market to educate and advise the BU leadership

  • Identify, develop, and execute a pipeline of qualified opportunities in support of SMX growth objectives to include a full array of capture strategies (new capture, incumbent capture, sole source, etc.). Must have a proven track record of closing deals

  • Build, develop and foster relationships with key agency decision-makers, stakeholders, industry partners, and influencers to pursue and win new opportunities

  • Develop and maintain industry partnerships and relationships as related to the assigned market

  • Must work collaboratively and proactively across the organization to achieve broader company growth objectives while maintaining connectivity to the program/contract executing managers

  • Engage in industry events and serve as liaison for memberships and event participation

  • Continually conduct market research and analysis of the latest trends in funding and mission priorities across the agencies

  • Provide capture strategy guidance and actively engage/support proposal efforts

  • Coordinate priorities and resources between multiple opportunities

  • Prepare and update SMX authoritative tracking tool for all tracked opportunities and be able to defend justification for pursuit

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Required Skills and Experience

  • Clearance Required: Secret

  • Current Secret clearance required, as well as ability to pass investigation needed to obtain Top Secret/SCI clearance

  • Bachelor’s degree, business (preferred) or a related discipline

  • 10+ years well-rounded experience conducting business development activities across the federal market with most recent 3 years specific experience related to the C5ISR market

  • Establish relationships with influential clients, stakeholders, and influencers, with demonstrated ability to develop and foster new relationships

Vaccination is a requirement of the position per Executive Order 14042. If a candidate is not vaccinated, they may request an accommodation once offered the position. The accommodation must be granted prior to the employee starting in the position. Candidate will have 60 days to get vaccinated.
