The Business Applications Ecosystem Sales Director is a senior sales role responsible for driving strategic and commercial sales opportunity creation working with Microsoft’s managed GSI ecosystem.

The Business Applications Ecosystem Sales Director will be accountable for significantly advancing Microsoft Dynamics’ ability to drive net new revenue, through and with our GSI ecosystem. This accountability includes development of a global strategy for each assigned GSI ecosystem, working through global and local sales teams to align GSI and Microsoft resources for joint opportunity creation. This role will also be accountable for developing a clear business rhythm for each opportunity, managing the business toward clear industry growth targets, while leveraging strong customer, internal and partner for success.


The BA Ecosystem Sales Lead is a Business Applications expert providing leadership, business insight and strong individual contribution to the definition of the partner mapping and sales execution at each account to drive Business Applications sales. This role will not own resources in the field but should influence the direction to be a source of inspiration and guidelines around the performance of the results. The role will be supported in the execution by the Business Applications Global Sales Execution Team, and the GTM Enablement Team, and will be capable of strong individual contribution and influence across non-direct reporting teams along with the large team of experienced senior sales professionals.

  • Own strategy and business plan execution for focus GSI ecosystem in order to drive net new sales opportunity creation with those partners in assigned region, integrated with the Microsoft Customer and Partner Solutions TZ Lead – EMEA, AMS, ASIA and their aligned counterparts in GSI/Alliance and the Global ISV organization within GPS

  • Own ecosystem alignment with Biz Apps sales executives and BA Global Industry Leads on emerging opportunity development and set a rhythm of the business for focus GSI ecosystem

  • Develop an industry aligned GSI ecosystem sales model framework with clear ownership of specific opportunities in our sales areas, aligned to the following industries: 1) Retail & CPG and Manufacturing & Auto; 2) Regulated Industries ( FSI, PS, Healthcare and Life Sciences; 3 ) Mixed Industries

  • Assure Business Applications capabilities are represented in every account plan for lighthouses and market making customers (Global Accounts, Other Strategic and selected Majors, Unicorns) and leverage GPS/OCP execution to support the pipeline progression and closing of Business Applications engagements

  • By partnering with the product team envisioning and support engagement for long term partner relationship development in order to support immediate opportunities and foster long term Biz Apps expansion

  • Work in concert with the GSI/Alliance and the Global ISV organization within GPS, to align OCP/GPS mission and sale objectives

  • Develop and manage a related long term ( 3 year ) expectations evolving the definition of strategic partnership within the Microsoft partner community


The successful candidate will be an experienced professional with strong industry knowledge, experienced cloud business sales leader who has a demonstrated ability in strategic sales planning, exceptional customer/partner relationship management, and sales execution.

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • 7+ years of technology-related sales or account management experience

  • OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field AND 6+ years of technology-related sales or account management experience.

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • 9+ years of technology-related sales or account management experience

  • OR Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, or related field AND 8+ years of technology-related sales or account management experience

  • OR Master's Degree in Business Administration (i.e., MBA), Information Technology, or related field AND 5+ years of technology-related sales or account management experience.

  • 6+ years of solution or services sales experience.

  • 15+ years of experience building deep, multifaceted relationships with top SaaS focused GSIs on a global scope (partner or customer) with industry specific experience. Should have demonstrated excellent business judgment and results. A proven track record of sales excellence and performance across all distribution channels

  • Significant experience building deep, multifaceted relationships with top SaaS focused GSIs on a global scope

  • Experience driving sales/presales opportunities in a SaaS market, ideally at a Tier 1 strategy consulting firm experience, or Global System Integrators

  • Evangelist for change, with a passion, vision, and the required endurance to solve large customer challenges in a multi-organizational context. Entrepreneurial spirit and confidence to pick up and lead new projects. Ability to take a practical approach to business development. Creative thinker who can see “the big picture” and unite new and disparate ideas with practical plans, working comfortably in the face of ambiguity and in a matrixed enterprise organization.   • Knowledge of SI industry trends & business model

  • Have a passion and skill for getting into the details to understand root cause behind issues and opportunities and possess the ability to turn deep business insight into actionable plans. Have the ability to clearly prioritize and effectively manage multiple tasks and projects in parallel and effectively achieve results through a largely indirect group of internal Microsoft stakeholders

  • Experience in dealing with senior stakeholders; strong networking and influencing skills. Ability to lead and influence extended teams without formal reporting-line authority. Possess the ability to build positive working relationships across both Field and Corporate stakeholders on the Microsoft Customer and Partner Solutions senior leadership teams. Have a proven ability to work effectively in a loosely structured team environment that demands a high degree of cooperation, flexibility, teaming, cross group and real-time responsiveness

  • Good communication, and ability to present complex concepts internally (e.g., to Sales teams) and externally (in front of senior client or at events). Possess excellent listening skills and proficient oral and written communications
