The Opportunity and Who You’ll Work With:

We are looking for an Audience Campaign Manager who will have the primary responsibility of managing and overseeing the delivery of communication from Salesforce’s Marketing Cloud. This is a new role at WBUR and your initial focus will be to set up a “hub and spoke '' model to work with various departments to operationalize communication delivery in our Salesforce Marketing Cloud which is being implemented. The primary function of this role is to develop and deploy integrated audience communication campaigns, including crafting strategy, aligning WBUR teams, developing audience segments, building email nurtures utilizing Salesforce communication journeys, owning top of the funnel strategy working with internal teams, and measuring results. The first phase will be to work with each team to prioritize top segments in Salesforce’s CDP and create communication journeys in the Marketing Cloud. This role will report to WBUR’s Chief Operating Officer.

As Audience Communication Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Operationalize a new process at WBUR to ensure the voice and brand of communications is consistent and of the highest quality that reflects our journalistic excellence. Ensuring uniformity in communication.

  • Working with internal teams develop personas for segmentation as foundations for our communications efforts. Personas that allow us to deliver “personalized” communications by offering our audience content that matters to them.

  • Create top of the funnel campaigns and monitor their effectiveness along each journey.

  • Coordinate in building persuasive communications that drive conversion.

  • Optimize communication journeys that can be leveraged across editorial, membership, and membership teams. to ensure efficiency and lessen duplicative efforts.

  • Work hand-in-hand with all stakeholders to optimize digital audience touch points – such as email, website messaging, mobile app notifications, direct mail and SMS.

  • Drives a culture of defining success - measuring performance and continuous feedback to the teams effectiveness through analysis and reporting the tools.

  • Work in Salesforce’s Marketing Cloud to optimize its capabilities.

  • Planful approach using exceptional organizational and communication skills.

  • Plan in close collaboration with project teams and project sponsors. Create project timelines and then own the monitoring, communication, and accountability to adhere to the timelines.

  • Define success measures and at iterative checkpoints, and track accordingly.

  • Proactively manage issues and risks.

  • Ensures fluid communication within the project team and with project sponsors

  • Create clear presentations for leadership that summarize the status of our marketing communication efforts.

  • Maintain understanding of relevant applications and/or infrastructure technologies. Stay current on relevant technology capabilities and best practices and communicate key capabilities and opportunities to teams.

Required Skills

What You’ll Need to Succeed:

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent/relevant experience.

  • 3- 5 plus years of Salesforce Marketing Cloud experience or equivalent with demonstrated experience in managing complex technology deployments.

  • Experience in multi-channel automated communication

  • Experience with CRM software (Salesforce preferred)

  • Copywriting and/or exceptional written skills and marketing experience are a plus.

Capabilities and Proficiencies:

  • An excitement about WBUR’s mission to provide an essential public good: high quality journalism and enriching experiences that foster understanding, connection and community.

  • Experience with change management and leading change management related to platform deployments.

  • Experience at non-profits, member-based organizations, media, or public media all a plus.

  • Experience with IT processes.

  • Proficient in Google sheets, Excel, Word, etc.

  • Orientation to documentation and controlled environment. Proficiency as fiscal steward to ensure project adheres to timeline and budget, checks in with stakeholders with progress reports, facilitates resources to reduce obstacles and challenges, and proactively mitigates potential risks and liabilities.

  • Ability to see ahead of needs and anticipate requirements and opportunities.

  • Ability to analyze project areas and components on a micro and macro level, draw logical inferences, and contribute/communicate insights including broader operational opportunities to fully optimize WBUR’s investment in Salesforce.

  • Business acumen to quickly understand areas to focus.

  • Exceptional communication and written skills.

  • Anticipates questions and exhibits ability to simplify messages for all spectrum of audiences.

  • Ability to reframe complex problems in simplified approaches and solutions.

  • Experienced with facilitating discussions to arrive at comprehensive decisions.

  • Thrives at a high pace.

  • Calm and composed mindset and approach to project management.
