The Associate/Senior Associate Director, Major Giving, reports to the Regional Director, Major Giving and is responsible for the qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of individuals in the Northeast region (NY metro/tri-state area) who are capable of making gifts of $250,000 to $ 4.9M; The Associate/Senior Associate Director manages a portfolio of 150 or more donors and prospects and is expected to meet specific goals for contacts and completed solicitations within the context of a major Capital Campaign. To be successful in meeting those goals, the Associate/Senior Associate Director is expected to devise strategies for guiding the relationship and for the ultimate solicitation of prospects. The Associate/Senior Associate Director writes effective solicitation letters and proposals and works collaboratively with peers in other fundraising units including Gift Planning, Athletics, School Relations and Organizational Giving to maximize fundraising productivity, provides staff support for volunteer committees as assigned and develops productive working relationships with key volunteers.

Title and salary commensurate with relevant experience based on the following titles and hiring ranges:
First Level Associate Director, minimum 1-3 years of fundraising or directly related experience: $83,350 - $110,450
Second Level Associate Director, minimum 3-5 years of fundraising or directly related experience: $99,950 124,950
Senior Associate Director, minimum 5-7 years of fundraising or directly related experience: $110,350 - $137,950
This position requires a Bachelor's degree, and for the first level Associate Director, a minimum of 1-3 years directly related experience successfully closing gifts of $50,000 or more; for the second level Associate Director, a minimum of 3-5 years directly related fundraising experience successfully closing gifts of $50,000 to $100,000; for the Senior Associate Director, a minimum of 5-7 years directly related fundraising experience successfully closing gifts of $100,000 or more, all levels preferably performed in a complex higher education environment. Travel and some evening and weekend work is required to be successful. A valid driver’s license is required. A demonstrated ability to speak and write persuasively about higher education and the Jesuit tradition is expected. Proficiency with technology and relevant software applications, such as e-mail, MSWord, MS Excel, and PowerPoint is also expected.
