The Marketing Platforms, Technology & Operations team is a part of Humana’s Marketing Organization, supporting marketing initiatives across the full consumer lifecycle. Having a solid foundation of capabilities and technologies that are modern, platforms-based is imperative to executing efficient and effective marketing strategies across all insurance segments (i.e. Medicare, Medicaid, Individual Specialty and Employer Group) and healthcare services segments (I.e. Pharmacy, Clinical, Home and CDO). We are seeking a talented executive to join our team in the newly-created role of Associate Vice President, Marketing Technology Management.This team has the agenda to modernize and transform marketing and adjacent enterprise capabilities. This team functions as the stewards of marketing capabilities, ensuring it is certified and meets the enterprise standards. It also enables the enterprise priority of migrating to cloud-based platforms, representing marketing and working collaboratively across the enterprise to ensure all capabilities are democratized and usable across the organization. Additionally, with Humana’s focus on integrated care and connected experiences, coupled with the changing consumer expectations of how they interact with Humana requires this team to vet and develop integration strategy. In addition to being stewards of marketing capabilities, this team is charged with developing a holistic marketing operations strategy to ensure campaigns and communications are optimized across all touchpoints of the consumer journey. The Associate VP, Marketing Technology Management undertakes detailed analysis of the technology landscape and employs holistic strategy to build a cohesive set of capabilities that offer superior marketing benefits and propels our business goals. This position requires an in-depth understanding of how organization capabilities interrelate across segments and/or enterprise-wide. He/she will manage a significant budget and will lead a team of 20 associates, although that number may grow over the next 12-18 months, as this function continues to evolve. The primary responsibility over the next 18 months would be to help execute transformation of people, process and platforms to elevate our capabilities.The preferred location for this position is at our corporate headquarters in Louisville, KY, although we will also consider Chicago, Boston, or Dallas locations for strong candidates.

  • Integrates technologies into viable capabilities that support core marketing and business operations.

  • Leads a team responsible for product management, technology product management and project management of core marketing capabilities.

  • Acts as marketing technology steward, managing all aspects across the lifecycle of the consumer (acquisition, onboarding, engagement, retention)

  • Creates and executes the roadmap for evolution & integration of marketing capabilities and needs

  • Collaborates with various departments to ensure capabilities are aligned with business needs and shared across enterprise.

  • Liaises effectively with peers in marketing organization to ensure that we’re anticipating their needs, proactively planning capabilities and leaning in for adoption and change management.

  • Liaises effectively with Humana IT organization to ensure compliant, performant, scalable and secure operations of our technology platforms.

  • Lead by example by emulating behaviors consistent with the new ways of working and Humana values

Key Candidate Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in marketing, technology or product management leadership roles and will be a strong people leader with proven success in expanding and elevating the capabilities and performance of the team. This person will have strong technology, database, project management ability, along with proven analytical skills and an ability to support multiple priorities. He/she will have a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in technical disciplines such as business, engineering or computer science; MBA strongly preferred.

In addition to the above, the following technical qualifications and personal attributes are also sought:

  • Deep experience in enterprise software solutions and marketing suites such as Adobe and Salesforce.com is required

  • Extensive functional expertise in marketing domain is required. Ability to transform & integrate platforms technologies for marketing use to optimize campaign development & execution

  • Understanding of marketing metrics and program measurement

  • Strong product management skills, especially with strong interface to product marketing and product engineering in an agile environment.

  • Strong detail-orientation and problem-solving skills as it pertains to technical implementation techniques for orchestrating marketing operations like campaign management & customer communications.

  • A record of success in attracting, developing, and motivating top talent from inside and outside of the organization, and preparing direct reports for expanded responsibilities

  • Experience in managing change by leading and energizing others, modeling adaptability, and inspiring strong organizational performance through periods of transformation, ambiguity, and complexity.

  • Ability to engage, educate, influence and guide others at all levels on the power of marketing as a business discipline to achieve company growth/retention goals and expand a brand

  • Current or recent experience in a large, highly matrixed company (i.e., Fortune 100), with proven ability to influence leaders and key stakeholders in such an environment

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills, including the polish, poise, and executive presence that will ensure effective interaction with senior and executive level audiences

  • Highly collaborative mindset and excellent relationship-building skills, including the ability to engage many diverse stakeholders and SMEs and win their co-ownership in the outcome

  • Experience managing external vendor relationships

  • Prior health insurance industry experience is preferred. Experience in regulated industries like financial services or insurance is a big plus.
