Job Description
The Associate Producer is an integral part of the Radio Boston team, working both independently and collaboratively with other Radio Boston staff members and WBUR reporters on all elements of a daily, hour-long regional news magazine. Working under the supervision of the Executive Producer, this position is responsible for finding and pitching stories of local interest, researching show ideas, finding and booking appropriate guests, scripting and editing segments, screening calls, producing field pieces and interviews, creating, editing, and posting web and social media assets, and fact-checking all program content
Essential Functions:
Researches and identifies appropriate guests and topics; fact checks, scripts and edits segments
Participates in regular editorial meetings to generate ideas and angles for content; finds and pitches stories
Edits audio and written copy. Writes and produces promos. Screens listener calls. Builds web content
Researches, records, and produces field pieces and interviews
Assists with administrative tasks, including record keeping, scheduling and making technical arrangements both at WBUR studios and remote facilities
Conceives and produces outstanding series on special topics as well as unique, single-theme programs
Required Skills
Bachelor's degree required
Three to five years of related experience
