Chewy Associate Director Talent Management in Boston, Massachusetts

We are seeking an Associate Director of Talent Management, based in Boston, MA. who will own a portfolio of highly impactful enterprise-wide talent management initiatives, that enable our leaders to continuously drive higher levels of engagement and performance through an integrated set of strategic talent practices – this portfolio will evolve over time.\u0026amp;nbsp;
What You\u0026#39;ll Do:
Determine Chewy’s approach to organizational design, span \u0026amp;amp; layer assessment, and job leveling that fosters a high-performing environment
Work with department leaders to detail functional competencies relevant to their own teams
Reassess Chewy’s internal promotion and transfer practices to ensure we are consistently raising the bar on performance and providing opportunities for exceptional internal talent
Develop a strategic approach to proactive career pathing within and across departments
Build succession planning and workforce planning models that enable Chewy to build a sustainable, on-demand bench of talent in support of our long-term company strategy
Collaborate with other key HR functions to embed Chewy’s cultural Operating Principles into Chewy’s day-to-day people practices, such as interviewing / hiring, promotion and exit processes, and leadership development programming
Design and deploy simple yet impactful standards for leadership practices that will substantially improve “management hygiene” across the organization – 1:1 check-ins, staff meetings, department all-hands sessions, etc
Conceptualize the objectives and ultimate “vision” for talent initiatives based on external insights and internal feedback from key stakeholders (senior leaders, team members, and HR partners)
Design the strategic approach to lead project implementation from start to finish
Collaborate with senior leaders, HR Business Partners, and other relevant teams along the project lifecycle to ensure initiatives are delivering exceptional results to the business
Report progress on milestones, barriers to success, risk mitigation tactics, and any other issues to ensure projects are continuously moving forward
Define ways to measure the success of the initiatives that demonstrably improve Chewy’s abilities to attract, engage, retain, and develop high-performing talent
Run the relevant programs or processes after implementation to a stable level of maturity
Determine the resources (head count, budget, systems, etc) for initiatives to be sustained long-term and manage a smooth transition of projects to steady state programs
What You\u0026#39;ll Need:
Minimum 7-10 years of progressive experience leading, managing, and executing large-scale transformational projects
Track record of owning the execution post-transformation to deliver sustained results
Specific experience in strategically oriented HR or Talent Management roles a plus
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience; concentration in Business Administration, Organizational Psychology, engineering, sciences, or similar field preferred; MBA or similar master’s degree highly preferred
Position may require travel
