Merck Associate Director of Marketing, US Heart Failure in Boston, Massachusetts

Job Description

This is a great opportunity to join the US heart failure team and participate in the launch of VERQUVO. In this role, the candidate will contribute across many aspects of marketing with a focus on field execution, as the team embraces a new agile marketing model. The primary roles will be to translate the brand strategy to the chronic care sales force, in partnership with sales leadership, and to serve as the liaison to the sales force by collecting insights, rolling out promotions, and addressing issues. Additionally, the person in this role will manage the co-promotion agreement with Bayer. Since the role will be part of the agile marketing team, there will be the opportunity to lead other marketing projects including those in HCP strategy and operations.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Developing innovative, field-based HCP engagement strategies and resources that are integral parts of omnichannel campaigns

  • Serving as field sales liaison and communication point

  • Developing and managing KPIs

  • Developing and implementing a training plan, in partnership with Learning and Development

  • Collaborating with USML, brand team, and Bayer to manage field sales co-promote agreement

  • Managing other strategic projects and operations

The position is reports directly to the U.S. Marketing Leader


  • Required: BA/BS Degree

  • Preferred: MBA or other advanced degree


  • Minimum of five (5) years of combined experience in marketing/marketing support functions, or as a customer team leader in the field sales organization

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with field sales organizations

  • Proven ability to lead across diverse stakeholders

  • Strong collaboration skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Proven ability to drive results while demonstrating the highest standards of ethics & integrity


  • Experience as a customer team leader or other field sales team manager

  • Experience selling and/or marketing to cardiologists

  • In-depth knowledge of US market

This position can be based remotely OR in Upper Gwynedd, PA.
