Chewy Associate Director of Diversity Equity & Inclusion in Boston, Massachusetts
The Associate Director of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Programs will define, accelerate, and drive collaboration of DE&I strategies across Chewy. You will work closely to integrate annual DE&I goals into business plans that strengthen Chewy's culture and enable us to deliver against our mission. This work will align shared priorities, interventions, metrics, and resources designed to provide measurable diversity, equity, and inclusion progress. Programs designed are global yet locally relevant. Your work will drive awareness, ownership, and accountability for inclusive practices and outcomes. In this role, you will serve as a DE&I subject matter expert by providing tools and frameworks to drive DE&I maturity across Chewy.
What You'll Do:
Design and drive enterprise-wide DE&I strategies, initiatives, and programs across Chewy
Represent DE&I within stakeholder groups to drive cross-business collaboration and project teams
Bring perspective on DE&I with a global mindset to tackle business problems, provide support to Chewtopians, and execute against the multiyear DE&I roadmap
Design and lead DE&I communication efforts (in collaboration with internal Corporate Communications/PR, Brand, Marketing, TA, etc.), including monthly newsletters, quarterly org-wide commitment updates, and management of Chewy's DE&I intranet page
Own the design and management of Chewy's internal DE&I web page by curating content, outlining the schedule of events, posting guidelines in partnership with Brand Employment and other groups
Design and maintain ESG (Environmental Social & Governance) with relevant content that aligns with the ESG model and practices for candidates, customers, and partners
Manage annual calendar of global celebrations which merit recognition and create communications for select events via email, social media, and other internal and external platforms
Design DE&I feedback and listening strategies to collect and distribute feedback from Chewtopians at designated times, combine other feedback from Fetching Feedback surveys, pulse surveys, exit surveys, and tools for use by DE&I and leaders alike
Develop, coach, and support leadership by driving awareness, adoption, and implementation of DE&I strategies
Serve as an advisor to stakeholders across the organization, leveraging both internal and external insights, maintaining a database of relevant industry research and surveys for Chewy and industry DE&I intelligence
Facilitate outreach events to educate diverse supplier partners on project opportunities and develop long-term relationships
Monitor and analyze a DE&I dashboard of relevant data and metrics to monitor progress against goals and objectives, and consult on actions to address gaps
Represents Chewy externally by sitting on panels and participating in external events
Builds relationships with other companies and organizations to share best practices and identify emerging trends, risks, and opportunities
Develop a measurement strategy to monitor and drive success for diversity initiatives and hold the organization and our leaders accountable for expected results
What You'll Need:
7 years of experience in DE&I, Human Resources, or Program Management
5 years of experience developing DE&I-focused strategies
Ability to execute initiatives that drive measurable results within the context of the organization's talent and business strategy
Strong subject matter expertise in DE&I, with success in providing strategic leadership and development in this space within a multi-channel organization
Ability to interface with all levels of management, influence leadership behavior, establish trust, build consensus, and communicate effectively
Prudent judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality and discretion
Demonstrated personal drive and sense of urgency, pushing self and others for results
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including presentations to internal and external audiences
Proactive approach to staying abreast of relevant changes in the DE&I field and sharing learning with stakeholders
Ability to work in a fast-paced, e-commerce environment
DE&I Certifications, e.g., Certified Diversity Professional, e-Cornell, etc. (Preferred)
