We are one of Boston's oldest and most respected philanthropic organizations and we are currently seeking an Associate Director, Institutional Giving.
In this newly established role, the Associate Director of Institutional Giving will develop and launch Combined Jewish Philanthropies’ corporation and foundation giving effort (exclusive of individual and private family foundations). Reporting to the Associate Vice President of Development Strategy and Donor Relations, the Associate Director will identify new sources of corporate and foundation support of CJP’s programs and activities.
This position ensures that CJP achieves its fundraising goals by developing, managing and nurturing new and existing corporate and foundation relationships. The Associate Director will execute and measure the success of a comprehensive fundraising strategy and will solicit multi-year commitments from corporations, businesses, and foundations. This position will effectively collaborate with other CJP team members to maximize contributions to CJP.
Researching, identifying, cultivating, and soliciting corporate and foundation prospects;
Writing materials such as proposals, applications, and stewardship reports;
Building partnerships with Strategy and Impact staff and senior CJP leadership to identify opportunities that align with funder interests;
Collaborating closely with frontline fundraisers, and lay leaders to identify and leverage connections to prospects in corporations and foundations.
Ensuring coordination with leadership giving on their corporate sponsorship efforts
working with DRS director of operations on budgets, work plans, and recognition opportunities;
Setting ambitious, yet achievable, revenue goals
Other duties as assigned with or without accommodation.
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5-7+ years of experience in corporate and foundation relations at a large nonprofit
Demonstrated experience establishing relationships with philanthropic staff at corporations, as well assecuringandgrowingcorporate and foundation support
Demonstrated experience setting and achieving ambitious goals
A terrific writer, who flex her/his style and can analyze and synthesize complex ideas into language for “everyone”
A superior listener, who also likes presenting before groups
A self-starter, passionate about building successful efforts
Creative and curious
Able to work independently and with good judgment with both internal and external constituencies
Excited by working collaboratively with passionate people
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook)
Ability to be flexible and adaptable to changes and shifting priorities
Finds resonance with CJP’s vision, mission, and goals and has a familiarity and appreciation for the Greater Boston Jewish Community.
