Job Description

Our Animal Health Marketing team takes a customer centric perspective using customer feedback and market intelligence data. Using this data, we design, develop and deploy products, platforms, brands and marketing initiatives that ensure we can improve the health and well-being of animals everywhere.

Summary of the Job and Role Purpose:

The Companion Animal and Equine (CA & E) MAHI (our company's Animal Health Intelligence) Brand Management Associate Director is a leader in connected pet products who will have P&L responsibilities for Sure Petcare brands including monitoring devices, ID, pet recovery, and services. The CA & EQ, our company's Animal Health Intelligence Brand Management Director role is entrepreneurial in nature and is responsible for developing the go-to-market strategy for new markets and products to ensure global growth opportunities and refining marketing strategic plans for existing services; especially those with subscription-based models. This role requires close collaboration within the CABU Marketing group to align and support strategies for the Animal Health biological and pharmaceutical portfolios.

Reporting to the CABU Marketing Executive Director, the CA & EQ our company's Animal Health Intelligence Brand Management Associate Director has 1 direct report. These individuals work together to develop marketing strategies to position enhanced pet care through the use of data and technology specific to the wellbeing of individual pets. The CA&E MAHI Brand Management Associate Director contributes to a best-in-class marketing organization by establishing and contributing to the establishment of a culture that promotes innovation, continuous improvement, a customer-focused mindset, and values feedback and inclusion to develop talent.

The CA&E MAHI Brand Management Associate Director also takes the lead in expanding the business across various regions and new markets, driving new and improved business in existing geographies, and develops pricing strategies with the goal of satisfying MAH and customer needs.

Essential Accountabilities: Strategic, Operational, and Leadership Responsibilities

Strategic responsibilities may include, but are not limited to : (30%)

  • Develop overall marketing strategic vision for the Health Intelligence suite of services and offerings for the profession and consumer

  • Develop a plan to expand business across existing regions and new markets for future expansion

  • Develop and deploy product marketing campaign(s) and asset packs for roll outs at the field level for use across multiple marketing channels

  • Lead efforts to develop joint marketing programs across the portfolio and with external partners

  • Partner with the global sales and marketing teams to utilize existing collateral

  • Analyze market trends and competitor activity to develop winning product positioning

  • Marshall resources to support competitive strategies and yield return-on-investment

Operational Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to : (60%)

  • Ensure the overall delivery and quality of our company's Animal Health Intelligence offerings to customers

  • Design and implement go-to-market strategies

  • Provide support for country marketing teams during the development and implementation of product marketing plans and launches

  • Ensure team develops product messaging and translates technical product details into must-have benefits for pet owners

  • Coordinate new product launches

  • Forecast required inventory and work with the production team to ensure availability of products and services

  • Conduct project evaluations using relevant KPIs and feedback from existing and prospective customers to feed into new product development, lifecycle management, and app development projects

  • Assist in the management and setup of local end consumer customer service as needed

  • Develop the Sure Petcare eCommerce site and business in partnership with the global and digital teams

  • Champion, develop, and integrate a consistent strategic platform, mission, and purpose for the organization through close collaboration with CABU Leadership Team and other key stakeholders

  • Partner, communicate, and facilitate collaborative interactions with peer organizations to ensure objectives, tactics, and long-term strategies are aligned and executed appropriately to achieve business goals

  • Ensure plans/actions/decisions do not negatively impact other of our company's species / business units

  • Share best practices and organizational learnings with the Marketing organization and company-wide, where appropriate

Minimum Qualifications:

Background & Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • 5-8 years’ experience as a Product Marketing Manager, Brand Manager, Digital Consumer Manager, or similar

  • Proven track record of successfully launching consumer products into the market

  • Detailed retail and digital marketing experience: DTC and via E-commerce partners

  • Experience directing the development of integrated marketing communications

  • Prefer experience in an international/global role

  • Prefer experience in IOT and/or consumer subscription product marketing

  • Prefer demonstrated experience in financial analysis and project management

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Detailed knowledge of companion animal markets, products, competitors, and industry dynamics

  • Demonstrable business acumen developed through full P&L management and accountability

  • Passion and aptitude for business analytics critical for guiding KPI development and measurement, market share acquisition and pricing strategies, revenue forecasting, and demand planning

  • Strong collaboration and influencing skills; ability to present and influence at all organizational levels including peer level, cross-functional teams, as well as executive management

  • DTC skills with an emphasis on digital marketing

  • Strategic capability to successfully manage portfolio of products at various lifecycle phases

  • Engaging interpersonal skills necessary for building strong relationships with key customers, industry associations, and internal business partners
