Job Description

The Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine is looking for someone who is passionate about the opportunity to spearhead the school’s burgeoning digital marketing efforts while also playing a key role in all aspects of a growing team that’s dedicated to doing exciting and innovative work. You will be responsible, under the supervision of the Director of Communications, for developing and executing high-impact marketing campaigns that advance and support the Dental School’s key strategic priorities. The incumbent will serve as the Director’s back-up when the Director is out of the office; this includes administrative and personnel responsibilities. The Assistant Director will have two direct reports and will be eager to provide them with direction, guidance, and development opportunities. The incumbent will also play a vital role in editing and writing content for various communications purposes.

The assistant director is responsible for managing – from strategy to creation to final deliverables – high-quality digital marketing campaigns across channels (e.g., email, PPC, display, social media, etc.) that advance and support the school’s key strategic priorities. This will require the assistant director to have strong business acumen, deep digital and omni-channel expertise, strategic thinking skills and proven execution experience. The assistant director will be expected to measure and report performance of all digital marketing campaigns; this includes identifying KPIs, measuring and analyzing performance, and identifying actionable insights that can be applied to future campaigns. The assistant director is expected to stay current on evolving marketing trends, technology, and opportunities. The assistant director will need to collaborate closely with other members of the Communications department to ensure a consistent user experience across paid and organic social content and the school’s website.

In addition to the above, the assistant director is responsible for other duties and responsibilities as needed to support the Office of Communications and External Relations in achieving its goals and strategic priorities. Occasional evening and weekend hours may be necessary.

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • 5-8 years experience in marketing or communications, with at least 3+ years in digital marketing

  • Knowledge and experience in digital marketing required

  • Management experience preferred

  • Demonstrated project management experience

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to tailor communication to a variety of groups / audiences

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Hands-on experience with Google, Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, retargeting, video, etc.

  • Must be comfortable managing competing priorities/demands as well as with changing/shifting priorities

  • Must demonstrate a high level of initiative and attention to detail

  • Experience with Wordpress preferred

  • Experience with Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop a plus
