CDM Smith is a multi-discipline engineering and architectural firm. Our firm is responsible for large-scale water and wastewater plant design, transit facilities, industrial facilities, office space design, facility planning and condition assessment work. As an Architect 4 at CDM Smith you will have the opportunity to grow your career as part of a collaborative multidisciplinary team of technical experts working on challenging projects in Environment, Industry, Commercial, Transportation, and Water. As a member of the architectural team, you would contribute to CDM Smith's vision with the following responsibilities:
Plan and formulate building design with limited supervisory responsibility in the preparation of design presentation and construction contract documents.
Coordinate building design formulation and construction contract documents with architectural and engineering staff.
Recommend construction materials, technologies, and methodologies necessary for design detailing and specification preparation.
Document applicable planning, zoning, and building codes and regulations.
Develop BIM models for conceptual design and design development and assist in the production of contract documents as required
Participate in the development of project budgets and schedules. Conduct existing building evaluations and reports. Review construction shop drawings, contractor coordination and construction site reviews.
Assist with development of architectural materials for proposals
CDM Smith Employment Type:
Professional degree in Architecture from a program accredited by the National Architectural Accreditation Board (NAAB), minimum Bachelor of Architecture (5 year degree) or Master of Architecture.
Architectural Experience Program (AXP) successfully completed, as specified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB).
Eligible to sit for the Architectural Registration Exam as administered by NCARB, Registered Architect preferred.
6 years related experience under the direct supervision of a registered Architect.
Competency with a wide variety of construction materials, technologies and methodologies.
Proficiency with Revit and AutoCAD is required. Competency with modeling and rendering software programs and Sketchup.
Fluency with basic business office software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.), Adobe Photoshop
Appropriate writing and interpersonal skills.
