Now, our Annual Giving team is looking for an Associate who wil l function as a co-leader of the crowdfunding platform at BU which is used to generate large volumes of small gifts for the Annual Giving team.

Annual Giving at Boston University

Each year, alumni, students, parents, and friends choose to support everything from softballs to software at BU. These gifts are then deployed to fund research, provide emergency student assistance, pay for travel to academic conferences, and lots more throughout the year.

Annual Giving Associate

This role serves as a co-lead for crowdfunding campaigns, manages gift acknowledgments, loyalty society, serves as a point of contact for donor and prospect inquiries. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills are required, as well as the ability to prioritize the workload. Must be able to handle confidential material responsibly and interact professionally with a wide spectrum of individuals. This position has the opportunity to work in a hybrid work arrangement, with work time both on campus as well as remotely

Responsibilities:

Crowdfunding:

  • Partner with students, faculty, staff, and alumni across campus to support project leaders within the crowdfunding platform.

  • Recruit and onboard new projects, train and provide strategic guidance to project leaders.

  • Serve as project manager for select internal annual giving crowdfunding campaigns.

    Stewardship and Acknowledgement:

  • Manage University-wide annual giving gift acknowledgements, including special constituencies such as 1839 Society, young alumni, class gift and parents.

  • Manage execution, data, and vendor relationship for acknowledgement processes.

  • Manage loyalty society growth and strategy in conjunction with Senior Director of Annual Giving. Coordinate ambassador program for giving day in partnership with Annual Giving Project manager.

    Special Projects:

  • Manage budgets, PCARD use, etc. for projects and team leads with support of Senior Director of Annual Giving and Director of Leadership Annual Giving

  • Manage student worker schedules and payroll delegating tasks as appropriate ramping up during busy times such as the lead up to Giving Day and other digital campaigns.

    Other Duties:

  • Manages master calendar for the team, including team meetings, retreats etc.

  • Other duties as requested by the annual giving team to meet the goals of the department.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Three years of higher education development, crowdfunding, or related experience.

  • Strong Project Management Skills.

  • Experience and proficiency with MS Office suite, Adobe Creative Cloud, and Sales Force Marketing Cloud is a plus.

  • Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and maintain strict deadlines.

  • Demonstrated ability to build partnerships and maximize relationships with both internal and external partners.

  • Strong attention to detail is essential.
