Job Title: Plating Operator

Job Description

This position is ideal for individuals looking to learn a new manufacturing skill. The role involves plating metal materials in various chemicals through a bath process. Candidates will review job cards to determine the appropriate method for each part, as customer orders vary. The process includes cleaning the material to ensure it is free of dust or dirt, determining the run time based on the part's size and density, and inspecting the part visually for defects after the bathing process.

Responsibilities

• Review job cards to determine plating method for each customer order.

• Clean materials to ensure they are free of dust and dirt before the plating process.

• Determine the appropriate run time for each part based on size and density.

• Run the plating process as per determined specifications.

• Inspect parts visually to ensure there are no noticeable defects.

Essential Skills

• Minimum of 6 months of manufacturing experience.

• Ability to lift 20+ lbs.

• Ability to follow work instructions.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Prior plating or manufacturing experience.

• Ability to read blueprints.

• Proficiency in using measuring tools such as micrometers.

• Experience with masking.

Work Environment

The plating department will have about 20 people. PPE including gloves, glasses, steel-toed shoes, aprons, and arm sleeves will be provided. The second shift hours are from 2 pm to 10:30 pm, with a 10% shift differential. The dress code includes jeans and steel-toed boots, which will be provided along with additional protective gear such as boots, pants, gloves, and safety glasses.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Billerica, Massachusetts.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $22.00/hr.
