Cabot Corporation Global Director of Marketing in Billerica, Massachusetts
The Global Director of Marketing will lead all the marketing activities for the Energy Materials business across the world and have direct responsibility for the business development teams in the Americas and EMEA. The candidate will work closely with the global Energy Material commercial and technology teams and partner with the Europe, Asia and Americas business directors to design business plans that can deliver the expected accelerated growth.
As this position is also accountable to keep a solid and dynamic pipeline of opportunities, the candidate has the opportunity to change the business growth trajectory and with that make a significant contribution to company results. A successful candidate will need to have the ability to promote change and influence others as well as be very comfortable to change courses quickly as the view evolves.
Builds comprehensive and executable business plan with clear deliverables and asset/ resources plan.
Leads business marketing strategy, including developing and articulating long range plan and milestones.
Manage and define marketing, business development and R&D/Application Development resources to assure proper pace, prioritization and alignment with business plans.
This organization needs to develop qualified leads/prospects and work very closely with regions to validate value proposition as well to help to develop at regional level the required products, communication tools that will enable the growth.
Develop and implement the marketing plan including ongoing market analysis, market segmentation, channel strategy, and pricing.
Provide input and analysis on global Energy Material marketing strategies and tactics.
The position is also accountable to defining / maintaining a pipeline of new potential growth areas for the business.
The role has significant visibility internally and enables broad networking externally. Successful performance in this role will generate tangible results for the business.
Manage the business development teams based in the Americas and EMEA
Effectively practices Performance Based Management by coaching and developing direct reports.
10+ years of marketing/business development experience with a strong track record of leadership and delivering results within the Energy Materials/Battery industry.
Bachelor degree in science, engineering or business required. MBA preferred.
Knowledgeable about the key business factors that drive profitability for the company and provides strategic input for how to achieve positive business outcomes.
Leadership and influencing skills: ability to motivate, inspire and energize people and build strong teams.
Analytical skills and ability to understand interdependencies and cause and effect relationships, synthesize learnings, and develop insights. Adept at organizing and connecting seemingly unrelated ideas.
Ability to understand Cabot’s technical capabilities, the applications in which they perform, and how they complement the performance of the customer.
Ability to move from strategic to tactical depending on the situation.
Ability to engage effectively and collaboratively across the organization and to assert influence to ensure the best outcomes, using commercial best practices and tools.
Ability to effectively produce results in an environment where there are multiple sources of input, multiple stakeholders, and frequently changing situations and events.
