Bruker Corporation Director of Genomics Business in Billerica, Massachusetts

Bruker Daltonics has a newly created position for a Director of Genomics who will develop our mass spectrometry business into genomics accounts both in academia and industrial life science research companies such as pharma and CRO accounts. This role will eventually manage a focused national sales team to maximize sales opportunities throughout the US. This position is based in our Billerica, MA headquarters.

Develop and maintain the US to meet or exceed defined sales volume goal for mass spectrometry in genomics.

Create and execute a strategic business development plan for the roll-out of life-science (LS) mass spectrometry tools into strategic genomics accounts.

Identify the relevant key opinion leaders (KOLs) for genomics in the industrial and academic sectors. Successfully promote and place our LS solutions into these accounts for the purpose of developing an effective network of early adopters who will help promote our solutions to the market.

Develop and execute a strategic marketing plan that includes targeted campaigns, presence/participation at relevant scientific conferences and tradeshows, and support for smaller, regionalized activities (e.g. ‘Go-Local’ events).

Liaise and support the regional LSMS sales team as they provide additional sales support and coverage. This will include the free exchange of information and updates on all relevant leads and opportunities.

Maintain the local-level sales strategy to maximize prospective customer awareness, sales opportunities and existing customer satisfaction for referrals in each territory. Support and mentor field sales representatives to effectively promote and sell LSMS genomics solutions into their local territories. This includes, but is not limited to; assisting in closing deals, leveraging established KOLs, and transfer leads to the sales team.

Travels with field sales team regularly (several days / month each rep), to assist and also monitor progress in specific regions.

Drive a regular cadence of communication and reporting with the regional teams by organizing monthly regional sales meetings or TCONs to review territory-specific sales activities and performance.

Communicates regularly with Sr. Management and provides a detailed monthly report of activities performed, along with an accurate monthly sales forecast and pipeline, (Anticipated POs for that specific quarter, with a 3 – 6 month outlook beyond this and also a separate 1 year rolling units forecast to be provided quarterly for production planning), NOB statistics and competitive information and won / lost POs.

Prepares and manages a resource requirement list for Product Specialists, demos etc.

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology, Molecular Biology or related discipline or equivalent experience required. Advanced degree and/or business degree is a plus.

Minimum of 10 years’ experience, with demonstrated success, in Sales and Sales Management of analytical tools into genomics.

Computer Skills:

WIN, Office, Outlook, CRM Tools.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Driver’s license required

Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal skills, and demonstrated ability to work in a team environment;

Excellent presentation and organization skills.

Ability to decide priorities in a rapidly changing commercial environment.

Other Qualifications:

Self-motivation is essential as is a willingness to work with others toward a shared goal.

Ability and willingness to travel as travel is required.
