Role Summary:

The BHGE Business Development Manager (BDM) will work as part of Baker Hughes, a GE Company’s (BHGE) BD team on origination, acquisitions, dispositions, joint ventures and strategic initiatives across its global businesses. The BDM will report to the BD Executive Manager for Measurement & Controls (M&C). Measurement & Controls is the industrial technology portfolio within BHGE, consisting of 4 distinct hardware businesses and BHGE’s software unit.

Essential Responsibilities:

The ideal candidate has a strategic mindset, strong acumen in corporate finance, effective communication skills, and can establish and lead large cross-functional teams. The BDM should be high-energy and results-driven. He / She will have high-visibility to senior management and will work on large impactful initiatives and objectives for the business.

In the role of BHGE Business Development Manager, you will:

  • Assist in the development of inorganic strategy for M&C business units

  • Perform market analysis for existing and new product lines

  • Be a trusted advisor by developing and maintaining deep understanding of business drivers and headwinds for diverse set of product lines, drawing on external research, trade shows, industry journals, bankers, consultants, etc.

  • Identify and evaluate potential target companies and partners, including products / technology, financial performance, market position, competitive landscape, relative value, strategic fit with BHGE, and potential synergies

  • Lead acquisition and disposition processes, including due diligence activities, financial valuation, presentation development, contract negotiation and early identification of integration issues and complexities

  • Interface, as needed, with investment banks, consultants, accountants, and other advisors to achieve desired business and/or deal objectives Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Business from an accredited university or college

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in leading mergers and acquisitions (buy or sell-side processes) and/or experience in management consulting for industrial technology or software companies Desired Characteristics:

  • MBA from an accredited university or college is preferred

  • Team player and ability to work in a highly ‘matrix’ environment and lead cross-functional teams

  • Possesses intellectual rigor and curiosity

  • Strong analytical skills coupled with a solid finance background

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Project management and organizational skills
