Oracle Technical Product Manager in Bedford, Massachusetts
Lead a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget.
As a member of the product development division, you will specify, design and implement major changes to existing software architecture. Define project needs. Build and execute unit tests and unit test plans. Review integration and regression plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering to ensure consistency, testability and portability across products in general.
Provide leadership and expertise in the development of new products/services/processes, frequently operating at the leading edge of technology. Recommends and justifies major changes to existing products/services/processes. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 8 or more years of software engineering or related experience.
Colorado Pay Range: From $124,774 to $224,599 per annum

Global Business Units (GBU)
Oracle’s Global Business Units is seeking a dynamic Technical Product Manager and thought leader for a mission critical division of the organization. The GBU’s acquire, develop and operate Oracle’s Industry Specific solutions, reaching across 98 different industry units and well over 50 distinct products. The role involves defining strategy, requirements and enablement for our shared services portfolio that GBU development teams use to accelerate development of their cloud services and improve developer productivity. The shared services portfolio includes: ML and analytics services, shared application services, application development frameworks (front and back-end) and associated tooling, all built on Oracle’s Platform as a Service (PaaS), and Infrastructure as a service (IaaS).
The role will include working with teams to migrate their existing solutions to shared infrastructure (often including complex migrations), defining infrastructure strategy, and providing guidance as the GBU teams remake their product portfolios to fully cloud native products. The position entails a high level of internal visibility with senior management. The Technical Product Manager is responsible for engaging with GBU Development Leadership and Oracle teams across the company to define a shared services strategy that accelerates development and enhances the developer experience.
Typical Duties and Responsibilities include:
Define strategies and drive engagements that leverage Oracle Cloud offerings to address critical business requirements of our customers.
Assess the current product portfolio and recommend repeatable patterns and shared services that will be used by multiple GBUs.
Manage competing, quickly changing priorities effectively and handle input from many internal and external collaborators and stakeholders.
Structure and execute plans for projects in challenging environments with a minimum of guidance.
Closely collaborate with high caliber peers and a variety of teams and groups in a highly dynamic environment.
Identify common pain points in Oracle products and solutions and propose practical alternatives to improve them.
Establish relationships and feedback channels into multiple product management and product engineering organizations, ultimately resulting in product improvements and innovations.
The selected candidate will play a Technical Product Manager role with excellent tracking and reporting skills, in-depth understanding of current cloud technologies and products, and has a strong sense for market trends and emerging technologies and tools within and outside of Oracle’s portfolio. Must be able to up level and summarize project goals and risks at an executive level.

The Technical Product Manager must have communication skills (both written and verbal) with the ability to effectively communicate with customers, succinctly articulate business impacts, translate technical information into layperson and business terms, concisely ‘storyboard’ complex problems, solutions, and approaches in a manner appropriate for executives, develop frameworks, templates, and high-quality pragmatic deliverables that can be shared with project teams.
The selected candidate will have problem solving skills with the ability to develop and analyze options/hypotheses objectively, applies industry-leading practices, and facilitates negotiations/discussions involving groups of diverse stakeholders.
Desired Qualifications, Skills, and Experience
Strong strategy, requirements definition, and communication skills
Good technical skills and a system wide vision including all aspects of the application development and cloud ecosystem (ML / analytics, UI technologies, application development, etc.).
Strong understanding of cloud architecture and hybrid on-premises / cloud designs.
Fluent in current Oracle PaaS, and IaaS products and experienced in their implementation.
Highly motivated, self-starter with a quick learning style and a strong ambition to remain up to date with current technologies and trends.
Exceptional analytical and critical reasoning skills capable of flexible and lateral thinking.
Ability to lead technical discussions and collaborate with Oracle teams across the company.
Understanding of Open source and non-Oracle products and solutions.
Inclination to coach – through trainings, public forums, blogs, and conferences.
Highly developed interpersonal, verbal communication and presentation skills; demonstrated comfort level for presentations to senior leadership level meetings.
Work with and across all levels within the business to develop the “best” solution to an issue/business need required.
A master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field or a bachelor’s degree and comparable experience in software development, information technology, and/or data architecture.
Minimum of 10 or more years of experience in progressively responsible information technology, including 3 years of application development experience.
Extensive experience with cloud services in the areas of PaaS, and IaaS is a plus.
