MITRE Accelerator is a non-for-profit tech foundation, that undertakes complex challenges that neither government nor industry can solve on their own.

The Senior Principal will join a team that is forming the execution plan for the development and acceleration of leadership for the US Semiconductor industry. The candidate is expected to have a deep understanding of the global semiconductor industry products and services business, which is composed of a complex value chain of supply chains, semiconductor fabrication, fabless companies, designers, tools, and equipment vendors. The candidate is also expected to understand the markets and financials for semiconductors for numerous industries including communications, computing, healthcare, automotive and defense. The candidate is expected to have a working knowledge of the associated technology and product roadmaps, including points of inflexion and disruptions. The candidate will contribute to all aspects of analysis and proposals where the MITRE Accelerator team is working on business models, policies, and technologies, and to recommend market and strategic initiatives to support US economic success and growth in the semiconductor industry.

Responsibilities include:

  • Working in the MITRE Accelerator team that is focused on analyzing and developing strategic proposals, spanning business models, technology, investments, and innovation.

  • Develop a proposal for the structure of new business in collaboration with internal colleagues, as well as external experts from the industry and academic communities

  • Developing milestone-driven development roadmaps and strategic scenarios for the new business including infrastructure and facilities plan

  • Development of a plan for and working with external partners across the complete ecosystem, and leverage network of contacts.

  • Preparing and communicating well-researched & evaluated plans to internal and external stakeholders, including memos, presentations, timelines, budgets, and requirements that clearly convey results, findings, and recommendations.

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience in progressive leadership roles with at least twenty (20) years of directly applicable business, technology, product, or strategy functions in the semiconductor industry

  • Advanced degree in applicable technology and/or business fields

  • Proven track record and responsibility for building businesses and organizations in the semiconductor or related high-technology industry

  • Record of analyzing markets and competitors to determine opportunities with the ability to question, validate and synthesize data for business model

  • Ability to create and execute workplans, as well as to create metrics to evaluate success / failure of new business ideas

  • Highly effective oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills; demonstrated ability to interact at all corporate levels effectively to achieve measurable results

Salary compensation range and midpoint:

$134,300 - $194,600 - $268,500 Annual
