Preferred Qualifications


The primary responsibility of product lifecycle manager (PLM) is to own the end-to-end product lifecycle of Oracle Communications’ rapidly growing security, monitoring and analytics product line. More importantly, we need progressive thinkers who can determine how artificial intelligence and machine-learning can be applied to the vast amounts of data our systems create, and how that data can be used create new growth opportunities in areas such as telephony fraud detection and prevention, user/caller authentication, and other contact center security policies.

The PLM will build and evolve products from existing ideas, and help develop new ideas based on industry experience and interactions with field sales, customers/prospects and partners. The PLM must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy, and should be capable of establishing and aligning to big-picture vision while building an actionable plan to do so.


Manage (with the help of a cross-functional team) the entire product line life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities. These include:

Market: Identifying, interpreting and defining the needs of the market

  • Analyze market data and spend time in the field to influence product tactics and strategies

  • Uncover and/or validate customer pain points to define product requirements

  • Build the plan of action to deliver a product against these needs, while building consensus and collaborating with key stakeholders (e.g. sales, engineering, marketing, services, etc)

  • Work closely with a product marketing counterpart to articulate how product works and interacts with other products in the portfolio including clear value propositions and differentiators

  • Present product capabilities and roadmaps to customers in executive briefings

Engineering: Guiding engineering efforts by defining and prioritizing market requirements

  • Perform due diligence on customer, partner and field-initiated requirements

  • Prioritize the roadmap to deliver against market and business needs while maximizing returns on engineering investment

  • Interpret the level of effort involved to create/maintain/end a product

  • Understand the CGBU and broader Oracle technology stack in order to extract value across portfolio

  • Translate technological differentiators into meaningful product/solution value propositions

  • Work closely with an engineering to define and track product release requirements and delivery dates

Business & Economics: Maximizing business value of the portfolio

  • Ensure profitability and economic viability of product by determining optimal pricing and go-to-market strategies (including discounting, bundling, and packaging strategies)

  • Maintain a portfolio view to capitalize on cross-product (or solution) opportunities

  • Track revenue and pipeline to measure success

  • Build financial models to evaluate new market and product opportunities


  • 10 years of product management or related high-tech product development experience

  • Experience in real-time-communications security, fraud and data analytics as they pertain to contact centers is essential

  • Knowledge of enterprise voice networking technologies, data analytics, machine-learning and/or artificial intelligence is preferred

  • Familiarity government data and security standards and regulations a plus

  • High level of comfort when speaking or presenting to customers, partners and analysts

  • Self-motivated and capable of adding structure to often ambiguous problems and challenges

  • Computer Science, Engineering or Technical degree (or related work experience) desired, Masters preferred

  • Able to travel up to 10-20% (some international) to customers, partners and industry events

Detailed Description and Job Requirements

Lead a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget.

As a member of the product development division, you will specify, design and implement major changes to existing software architecture. Define project needs. Build and execute unit tests and unit test plans. Review integration and regression plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering to ensure consistency, testability and portability across products in general.

Acknowledged expert/professional within company and/or industry nationally and internationally. Provides leadership in the development and strategic direction of new products, processes, techniques. Acts as primary consultant on large projects that effect the organization

  • s long term objectives / strategy. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 12 or more years of software engineering or related experience.
