Oracle Principal Product Manager in Bedford, Massachusetts

Work as part of a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget.

As a member of the product development division, you will define product specifications and or strategy. Gather and analyze information to define product specifications and review design specifications. Communicate product strategy and functionality. Initiate and foster relationships with other groups. Review product documentation and collateral. Ensure successful product releases based on corporate priorities.

Duties and tasks are varied and complex, needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of software engineering or related experience.

This is a remote/office based position which may be performed anywhere in the United States except for within the state of Colorado.

Job Description

We are looking for someone who believes in our vision, that low code application development with Oracle Database, is a preferred method of application development for the majority of use cases. We are looking for someone who has developed APEX applications at scale, and who can fully appreciate the productivity they have realized with APEX.

This role calls for someone who is technically proficient, and can speak confidently from their experience. If you are a full-stack developer and experience with configuration management and software delivery pipelines, even better. In this job, you will:

  • Manage and drive the adoption of APEX throughout Oracle and our customer base.

  • Engage customers, prospects, partners, and internal stakeholders to determine business requirements, technical considerations, and strategic objectives; as well as provide recommendations based on your industry and product experience.

  • Help refine and prioritize customer requirements

  • Coordinate the development and delivery of marketing and communication strategies and roadmap along with related materials and content.

  • Develop and deliver sales training materials in collaboration with product marketing teams.

  • Author technical briefs.

  • Develop and lead workshops.

  • Cultivate, organize and lead new APEX communities.

You're an experienced APEX developer or leader with approximately 8-12 years of experience and a track record of designing, building, and delivering complex, large-scale solutions using Oracle APEX.

Detailed Description and Job Requirements

  • 8-12 years of experience as an APEX developer or leader

  • Strong understanding of cloud architectures, agile development, and software delivery lifecycle

  • Experience identifying and addressing customer needs, building relationships with customers, developing an awareness of relevant services, communicating with customers in an organized and knowledgeable manner, delivering clear requests for information, and resolving potential conflicts.

  • Ability to engage in detailed technical discussions with engineering and operational teams and make technology-related product decisions.

  • Deep understanding of web and application development, database development, cloud architectures, performance monitoring

  • Experience working in and delivering product or services in an agile/lean environment.

  • Experience in gathering and transforming product requirements into an actionable product roadmap.

  • Ability to convey your vision through product roadmaps, working closely with product leaders, engineers, and other stakeholders, and participate in all levels of planning.

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in diverse, cross-departmental teams.

  • Successfully lead product initiatives, across various functions including marketing, design, engineering, and other stakeholder teams

  • A customer champion; making and influencing decisions about product features, functionality, design, and architecture with our customers at the center.

  • Ability to gather relevant data and metrics for a product set measurable and progressive goals using data, and drive achievement of goals and metrics in collaboration with business and technical stakeholders.

  • Ability to secure buy-in for new initiatives through comprehensive research, building business cases and socializing.

  • A passion for technology; keeping up with the latest trends in the field and aware of how they impact the APEX roadmap.
