The Director,Leadership & Management Development is responsible for defining and leadingMITRE’s leadership and management development strategy. Asa senior member of MITRE Corporation’s Human Resources Team, reporting to theChief HR Officer, this role will partner with the business to embed leadershipand managerial capability into MITRE’s culture and practices using a variety oflearning methods and solutions.

This individual willbe accountable for designing and developing a rigorous leadership developmentprogram to focus on the growth of MITRE’s talent.He or she will provide leadership, advocacyand vision to MITRE’s executive team as well as architect and execute amethodology and process for enterprise-wide succession planning.Ideal candidate must be able to work withpeople at all levels of the organization to drive predictable outcomes whilebalancing innovation, efficiency and quality.

JobDescription

  • Responsible for MITRE’senterprise-wide leadership development strategy for new managers throughseasoned leaders/executives, including comprehensive evaluation methodologiesaligned to key corporate metrics.

  • Manage a team of leadership developmentspecialists to design and deliver innovative enterprise-wide leadershipdevelopment programs that will drive significant behavioral change and build leadershipcapabilities.

  • Direct and lead the Leadership &Management Development team to leverage innovative systems, workflows andprocesses.

  • Partner with line management and HRto measure leadership bench strength and determine the impact of leadershipdevelopment initiatives.

  • Lead needs assessment and compilebest practice data to create integrated and innovative solutions.

  • Design, develop and execute coachingframeworks and methodologies to help senior leaders enhance their performance,build leadership skills and meet business objectives.

  • Lead efforts to assimilateleadership framework and competencies into the MITRE culture.

  • Manage the Leadership &Management Development team to ensure it is appropriately resourced andsupported to meet the evolving needs of MITRE’s business.Develop team members’ capabilities and manageperformance through regular feedback, coaching and recognition.

  • Oversee and manage MITRE’s budget,as well as metrics and reporting analytics, related to enterprise-wideleadership and management development initiatives.

  • Partner with MITRE leadership acrossthe enterprise on strategic talent initiatives such as inclusion and diversity

  • Act as a leader, advisor and changeagent to scale and align leadership and management development processes withMITRE’s strategic plan for current and forecasted talent.

  • Serve as a senior member of TheMITRE Corporation’s HR Team, providing input, guidance, mentoring andinnovation across the broader HR Function locally and globally.

Qualifications

Knowledge AndSkill Requirements

  • BA/BS degree required and minimum of10 years of experience in leadership development, including experience workingin a corporate leadership development department.

  • Master’s degree or PhD desired - ina discipline such as adult education, organizational development,organizational behavior, psychology management or a related field.

  • Completion of an ICF certifiedprogram in executive coaching and experience coaching middle and senior levelleaders.

  • Extensive knowledge of bestpractices in developing leaders and experience applying these best practiceswithin organizations.

  • Proven design and developmentexperience that incorporates adult learning principles and results intransformational leadership development experiences and interventions.

  • Proven results in design anddelivery of programs and processes that build leadership bench strength (e.g.methods for selection, assessment, performance management, development andtalent management/succession planning).

  • Ability to proactively manage large,multi-year projects to ensure budgets, schedules and performance criteria aremet.

  • Deep expertise in competencymodeling and in needs assessment and analysis.

  • Proficiency in evaluation ofleadership programs.

  • Experience in consulting to seniorleaders on leadership issues.

  • Experience integrating competenciesinto organizational initiatives that build leadership bench strength.

  • Proven experience as a catalyst forcontinuous innovation, champion for change management, and influential andstrategic thought leader.

  • Evidence of being a strong teamplayer with the ability to facilitate team building, develop effectivepartnerships and collaborate with a variety of stakeholders at all levels toaccomplish goals.

  • Outstanding verbal and writtencommunication skills; delivers clear, concise and influential messages bothverbally and in writing.

  • Platform and facilitation skillsincluding the ability to deliver interactive presentations, lead meetings andbuild consensus.
