Stop & Shop Distribution Center Supervisor Slotting and Performance in Assonet, Massachusetts
BASIC PURPOSE: The primary purpose of this position is to: Develop slotting plans for multiple warehouse, including: Weekly Sales Plan Volume, seasonal and Holiday Plans Product Mix Ration (Dock vs. Slot) Commodity/Department Plans (store friendly compliance) Daily Slot Maintenance Maintain the integrity of the Labor Management Modules within the EXE Warehouse Management system. Oversee all work methods and business processes that directly correlate to and support all engineered labor standards within the facility. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Primary accountability for specific functions and results. The list of essential functions is not exhaustive and may be supplemented or changed as necessary. Develop slotting plans for multiple warehouses, including the weekly sales plan, volume seasonal and holiday plans, product mix ratio (dock vs. slot), and commodity/ development plans (store friendly compliance). . 2. Oversee the activities and maintain the integrity of the Labor Management Modules with the EXE Warehouse Management System. 3. Safe Quality Food monitoring. 4. Perform modeling and simulation to determine productivity and operational impacts with slotting changes to determine optimum plan. 5. Identify and provide support for implementing short and long-term projects to drive efficiency with slotting and labor management. 6. Maintain clear and frequent communication with similar role(s) at other distribution sites to drive consistency and efficiency across Stop and Shop\'s slotting and labor/performance management processes. 7. Maintain clear and frequent communication with site management and distribution center teams about slotting and labor/performance management issues and decisions. 8. Interface with other company departments including Merchandising, Store Operations, Customer Service, and Inventory Control for all slotting and / or problems as appropriate. 9. Establish, maintain, and document the best-practice operational methodologies functions within our distribution center such as personal, fatigue and delay factors. 10. Provide necessary training and support to the operations management in order to maintain and facilitate proper detailed labor standards, including proper work methods, table setup and usage. 11. Develop, conduct and maintain training programs to educate distribution associates about slotting. 12. Develop detailed back-up slotting procedures to be used when systems are down. 13. Administer Stop and Shop company policies / guidelines and Distribution Shop Rules. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 14. Participate in the orientation of new associates as necessary. 15. Establish positive relationships with various departments within Stop and Shop to foster the necessary cooperation needed to meet corporate goals. 17. Maintain a working knowledge of industry best-of-breed operators and engineering principles to support best practices. 18. Identify and document best practices for slotting and labor management. POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: To perform at a proficient level and be fully qualified, a person would be expected to have: Education (Minimum Needed): Bachelor\'s Degree in Business, Logistics, Industrial Engineering or equivalent work experience. Experience (Minimum Needed): 4-6 years in a distribution environment with increasing management responsibilities. Excellent knowledge of distribution operations, warehouse management systems, labor standards and radio frequency systems. Specialized Knowledge Needed For Performance of Job: EXE Technologies Warehouse Management System experience a plus Special Skills: Project Management, Analytical, Presentation, Communication (written and verbal), Interpersonal. Planning and Organizational skills Other: Knowledge of system operation. Willing to travel as needed.
