Mercury Systems VP Government Relations in Andover, Massachusetts

In this role you will establish an enhanced model for government relationships at the federal and state level for Mercury Systems, reporting to the Chief Growth Officer. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in working and partnering with A&D GR teams and have meaningful experience in direct government relationship development. Additional, this leader must have a strategic vision for supporting our valued customers and in developing Mercury Systems’ ability to partner with federal, state and local elected officials (and their staffs) in value creation for National Defense constructs. To succeed in this role * This leader will be required to establish meaningful relationships within Congress and set the tone and systematic cadence for cross-business engagements with Congress that accelerate the speed of innovation within the defense electronics domain while adding shareholder value. * Additionally, this leader will be required to enhance Mercury’s engagement at the State economic development levels and make recommendations to the ELT which position best position the company to capture investments and drive a lower cost geographic footprint. * Finally, this leader must be an effective partner to the growth, strategy, and P&L leaders across the company and be able to establish a vision; working with the CEO, CGO and Board of Directors (GR Committee); for enhanced government relationships which significantly increase Mercury’s visibility and capability understanding across the span of government decision makers. Bachelor's degree in business management, marketing, a technical field (or technical sales background); MBA or related advanced degree preferred Ability to travel at least 50% to work directly with customers and Mercury teams The ability to obtain a US Secret Clearance is required for this role Why should you join Mercury Systems?
