The MassMutual Digital Analytics team is looking for a knowledgeable tag management specialist to support our Digital Transformation. We believe that a strong data and analytics foundation is key. Accordingly, the Digital Analytics team’s mission is to support the organization in knowing our customers and their needs and a better understanding of customer behavior and patterns. We achieve this through standardized tag management methodologies, a well-built data platform, and business intelligence reporting and analytics to be shared across the organization.

What Great Looks Like in this Role

This is a both a strategic and technical execution role with interactions with C-levels to on-the-ground teams. The right candidate will have a passion for digital analytics, understand the changing landscape, and have a great mix of technical skills, leadership prowess, business acumen, and an ability to explain highly-technical concepts to non-technical team members and leaders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the definition and execution of a creative tag management strategy, roadmap, and KPIs to support various organizations across the business (digital experience, marketing, journey analytics, data science, etc.)

  • Serve as the digital analytics technical lead responsible for owning and defining an established tag mythology (including best practices and standards) for tagging and mapping, providing guidance to stakeholders, and creating and distributing documentation where appropriate

  • Implement javascript tags/pixels on existing and new digital properties in collaboration with our existing digital analyst

  • Help identify the full-scope of digital properties and ensure they are properly tagged

  • Provide the technical leadership responsible for the creation of a sustainable and automated digital analytics platform that can consume, analyze, and share data with limited human intervention

  • Collaborate closely with Enterprise Architecture to support the rollout of a new digital analytics model across the enterprise

  • Manage vendor relationships

  • Act as data owner to develop standardized definitions for data tagging schema/metrics, review how digital analytics metrics are used across the organization, and advocate and champion for data literacy

  • Support the Digital Analytics team as needed in our analytics, BI, and experimental design needs

Skills and Qualifications

  • 8+ years in implementation and strategy development of tag management solutions such as Tealium IQ, Google Tag Manager, Adobe DTM, etc.

  • Advanced knowledge of web analytics tools including Snowplow Analytics, Google Analytics, and Quantum Metric

  • Experience with Customer Data Platforms (CDPs; e.g., Tealium AudienceStream) and Data Management Platforms (DMPs)

  • Experience building roadmaps and defining KPIs

  • Highly proficient in HTML, Javascript, CSS, and SQL

  • Expert-level understanding of clickstream metrics and strong working knowledge of big data preparation, mining, and analytics

  • Strong problem solving and verbal/written communication and data presentation skills, including an ability to effectively collaborate with both business and technical teams

  • Bachelor’s degree required

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

  • Financial Services business acumen preferred

  • Relevant professional experience in analytics within an agile environment

  • Experience visualizing data using systems such as Microstrategy, Looker, and Tableau

  • Experience with multi-variant testing and segmentation
