Position Overview The OMG Product Development and Innovation team is focused on developing compelling and innovative new products, and improving our existing products to better meet the needs of professional contractors and building specifiers in the markets we serve. The Project Manager uses OMG\'s gated development process and Six Sigma tools to focus on developing compelling and innovative new products and improving our existing products. This key position is responsible for comprehensive project management, from ideation to launch, including timeline management, cross-organization communications, and overall team management. The Project Manager must be a strong communicator, manage their time efficiently, possess strong organizational skills, and above all, be an enthusiastic team player. Position Responsibilities Promote Safety as the Number One priority of all OMG employees. Manage a cross-functional development team to develop and launch innovative product solutions that meet customer, cost, schedule, and scope requirements. Take a leadership role in executing OMG\'s Project management and Stage Gate Processes. Author, edit, and update the Project Charter using OMG New Product Development process template. Create and maintain project timelines. Communicate any exceptions or changes to the plan or timeline. Hold project team members accountable for their relevant tasks. Identify constraints, work with the team to develop countermeasures, and involve Vice President New Product Development and Innovation as needed. Challenge quality of inputs from team members. Coordinate weekly project update meetings, including slide and chart updates. Manage 3 -- 5 Projects concurrently. Measures of success are Gates passed, time per gate, unplanned delays, patents, bill of materials (BOM) accuracy, and final design performance. Coach, mentor, and develop product development team. Perform other tasks as assigned. Position Requirements Bachelor\'s or Master\'s Degree in Engineering. 2 or more years\' experience in project management. Expert knowledge and experience using Microsoft Project. Knowledge of SolidWorks. Experience with handling multiple aspects of project management including coordination both with the organization and with internal and external stakeholders. Expert knowledge of principles of project management and stage gate decision-making process. Demonstrated experience with continuous improvement activities relating to engineering and other business processes. Demonstrated hands-on aptitude, construction and/or mechanical. Creative, tenacious, and a problem solver. Self-starter, highly motivated, and a strong sense of personal accountability. Excellent communication skills, written and oral. Strong PC skills including Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to stand, see, walk, climb, talk, hear, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 lbs. Positive can-do attitude.
