Teledyne Technologies Business Growth Manager in Acton, Massachusetts

Position Summary and Responsibilities

The main goal of the Business Growth Manager is sustained revenue growth in assigned markets and sub-markets based on the execution of a business strategy you develop and own.

At its heart, the objective is to find new customers by creating programs that engage and convert targeted prospects. To achieve this, the Business Growth Manager will lead a team of marketing managers, product managers, and application specialists.

Critical to the position is understanding the target customer including:

  • Trends and direction of markets including social, legal, environmental, and political influences

  • Application and desired end-goal of customer’s research field or business

  • Perceived needs and expectations

  • Jobs to be done

  • Customer communication networks, including thought leaders and other influencers

You will work closely with Management, MarCom and Sales to execute your growth plan. Ownership of the plan however will be solely your responsibility.

You will be assessed on won business and viable pipeline created.


Business and Market analysis

  • Clearly define the markets, removing unattractive segments

  • Set portfolio strategy using tools like SLEPT, SWOT, PPH and Mekko

  • Analyze product line P/L and implement price and product strategies

  • Analyze position (revenue, lead generation, pipeline metrics)

  • Identify possible sales channels (end-User, VAR’s and OEMs)

Customer research

  • Research and segment relevant profiles and relevant personas

  • Identify and engage thought leaders and KOL’s (Key opinion leaders)

  • Identify the audience (web, scientific paper research, LinkedIn, etc.)

  • Invest in live opportunities and analyze won/loss data


  • Select a portfolio of communication strategies designed to engage and attract customers

  • Create articles and content to drive new customer engagement

  • Create references for applications or key partners

  • Work with MarCom to distribute your created messages using available channels

  • Deliver new leads and opportunities to sales through prospecting programs you’ve designed

  • Provide the sales team with viable leads and opportunities

  • Suggest and attend trade show/key meeting relevant to your market

  • Host webinars and regional talks to drive engagement

Sales enablement

  • Lead sales discussions on emerging opportunities

  • Direct sales teams towards areas of opportunity

  • Attend demonstrations, calls and web meetings to increase opportunity success

  • Equip sales teams with information and product training necessary for success


  • Six years of experience in a product marketing or business role

  • Prior experience as a team lead or group manager

  • Understanding of advanced imaging technologies including software

  • Competent with Windows and Microsoft products

  • Proficiency to follow up and meet deadlines

  • Ability up to travel 30% of time

  • Flexibility to work outside traditional working hours
