State of Massachusetts Manager of Government and Public Affairs in 10 Park Plaza, Massachusetts
The Manager of Government and Public Affairs will work closely with the Director of Government and Public Affairs and will assist in ensuring a strong and productive relationship between all MassDOT agencies and the impacted communities. He/she will: assist in developing work procedures consistent with agency policy and monitor work performed to ensure that MassDOT’s goals and objectives are consistent with the needs of the impacted communities. He/she will, on occasion be required to fulfill responsibilities of the Director in his/her absence.
Specific duties will include: interaction / communication with state and local elected officials, the coordination and development of civic /community outreach and integration programs; oversight of production and distribution of the MassDOT calendar or events; coordinate information and prepare briefings for Secretary of Transportation and on occasion the Governor and Lt. Governor; oversee and manage activities of Northeastern University coop students; coordinate and facilitate information relative to the status of MassDOT projects with various public officials, business owners and the public, to inform them of transportation developments in their community; and workingclosely withthe Director of Govt. & Public Affairs and MassDOT senior staff in order to: recommend new initiatives that meet the needs of the community, and monitor the progress of proposed legislation that directly impacts community operations.

MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants must have at least (A) four (4) years of full-time or, equivalent part-time, professional, professional internship, administrative, supervisory, or managerial experience in business administration, business management, public administration, public management, clinical administration or clinical management or (B) any equivalent combination of the required experience and substitutions below.
I. A certificate in a relevant or related field may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience.
II. An Associate’s degree in a related field may be substituted for one (1) year of the required experience.
III. A Bachelor’s degree in a related field may be substituted for two (2) years of the required experience.
IV. A Graduate degree in a related field may be substituted for three (3) years of the required experience.
V. A Doctorate degree in a related field may be substituted for the required experience.
