The Merchandise Manager is responsible for developing and managing the successful execution of merchandising strategies by combining consumer insight and business acumen to reach productivity, and financial goals, while aligning to overall Brand strategy. The responsibility of the Merchandising Manager is to manage the product assortment across all relevant categories and classifications and create an assortment that aligns to the regional direction, delivers against consumer needs, and is profitable for both PUMA and the account

Serve as the lead footwear product merchant .

  • Maintain current momentum, while finding new opportunities to maximize growth across all gender categories.

  • Learn from interaction with our internal teammates, customers, and consumers to build market conquering assortments within the channel.

  • Execute the assortment construction in a way that maximizes profitability for the brand and the customer.

  • Deliver marketplace insights to all relevant product category merchants to ensure that the global product line management team is informed of trends.

  • Work with our sales counterparts to identify account specific needs with assortment planning & flow to maximize wins for ourselves and the customer.

  • Work with our apparel & accessories merchants to educate them on the footwear direction- aligning the functional areas is key to 360 growth strategy for the business.

Work cross-functionally to ensure that the go-to-market process runs smoothly. Duties may include, but are not limited to:

  • Account meeting leadership and/or participation

  • Meeting breakdown & set-up

  • Develop sales & account meeting presentation materials

    · Act on agreed upon post-meeting action items- including product briefs, forecasting, preparing meeting notes for merchandising team.

Additional Awareness Responsibilities (All Hands on Deck Mentality)

  • Demonstrate competency in channels of business outside of your designated channel of responsibility- a well-rounded knowledge base is the key to growth.

  • Market Travel to support the greater region, your channel/account base in addition to other areas of the business.

  • Ability to support other areas of the business as needed through account presentations and sales force education.

Drive Business Results

  • Ability to educate & influence internal/external teams on brand initiatives & strategies, while also molding those strategies for the accounts being managed.

  • Deliver impactful presentations that influence the financial goals of the business.

  • Lead & Manage internal broadcasts post key meetings & marketplace results.

    • 3-5+ years’ experience working in footwear/apparel wholesale/retail business focused on similar consumer/account base (experience working with Foot Locker Group/Finish Line strongly preferred).
  • 3-5+ years’ experience in internal & external presentation driven role.

  • Knowledge and passion of athletic footwear and apparel industry, and/or

Streetwear, and/or sneaker culture

  • Strong Microsoft Excel & PowerPoint skills are a must.

  • Organized individual with ability to manage complex and fast paced environment.

  • Ability to travel 35% of the time.

  • Knowledge and understanding of product development, marketing, merchandising and product commercialization & brand management.

  • Ability to work cross functionally internally and externally.

  • Ability to approach inter-functional & cross-functional complex business issues in a positive and constructive manner.

    · Proven ability to make decisions guided by brand financial guidelines.
