National Grid Manager, Communications Innovation in Waltham, Massachusetts

_About the Position:_

Lead a step change in the way we communicate with field-based employees; Deliver excellent communications around ongoing initiatives: Gas Business Enablement & Supervisor Enablement.

_Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to)_:

Field Communications Delivery Model:

  • Develop a new communications delivery model for US Communications team to reach field-based employees, includingsupervisors, represented employees, and generation/transmission workers

  • Gather data and conduct analysis around current delivery model, industry best practices, and employees’ satisfaction

  • Create a menu of tactics/guidelines for communicators to use going forward, since one size does not fit all for field employees

  • Supervisor Enablement:

  • Deliver excellent internal communications campaign for Supervisor Enablement initiative

  • Work closely with Supervisor Enablement team to develop and evolve communications strategy, attend all team meetings

  • “Market” Supervisor Enablement to four internal audiences: supervisors themselves, operations leadership (VPs/directors/managers), the US Executive Team, and the broad US employee base

Gas Business Enablement:

  • Oversee Gas Business Enablement communications lead; assist with professional development

  • Be accountable for Gas Business Enablement communications goals, including communications within GBE, to impacted employees, and to the broad US employee base

  • Build relationships with Gas Business Enablement leadership team

Become part of core US Communications team:

  • Join the after-hours media on-call rotation

  • Serve as a Branch Public Information Coordinator during storms and other crises, etc.

_Knowledge and Experience Required:_

  • Requires a Bachelor’s Degree

  • Experience working with field operations employees preferred

  • Change management experience preferred

  • Employee communications experience preferred

  • Experience managing/developing people preferred

  • Strategic thinking, ability to transition between tactics and high-level strategy to advance both

  • Excellent writing skills

  • Strong ability to collaborate with various departments, stakeholders, etc. both internally and externally

  • Flexibility/adaptability under tight deadlines and in high-pressure situations

  • Entrepreneurial mindset, ability to operate independently

  • Strong presentation/communication skills
