UpToDate is seeking an Editorial Assistant to join the Editorial Operations team.

Responsibilities:

The Editorial Assistant will ensure that all information is grammatically correct and error free. This individual will work closely with in-house physician editors to ensure all deadlines are met and will follow up with contributing authors and editors for assignments. The position requires an individual with very strong organizational and time management skills, close attention to detail, and excellent proofreading skills. This role will be based in our Waltham, MA office.

This is a great opportunity to gain experience in the publishing industry.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent required. Editorial internship or medical interest a plus.

Required skills:

The main tasks of the Editorial Assistant (EA) are to:

• Work in tandem with in-house physician editors to drive progress in an assigned medical specialty

• Contact and develop relationships with external physician authors and editors; maintain communication to ensure that deadlines are met

• Maintain editorial databases through careful and thorough logging of information

• Ferry manuscripts through the editorial process, including style editing, proofreading, and sending revised versions to external physician authors and editors.

• Work with others in the editorial department to ensure content is finalized and reviewed before publication

• Maintain specialty and departmental goals on a monthly and yearly basis
