Role: D evelop and lead innovation programs at two of Philips long-term strategic partners in North America (located in Phoenix, Arizona and Augusta, Georgia).

Purpose of the job:

• To develop and lead innovation partnerships with two LSP customers in North America committed to applied, scalable innovation work with Philips that result in measurable and material improvements in the healthcare triple aim. According to charters and innovation models, the role will:

  • Drive the effectiveness of the innovation partnerships and stakeholder management.

  • Coordinate all ongoing development and innovation projects within the partnerships.

  • Coordinate business support and alignment with solution teams and health system BIUs necessary to identify and implement solutions.

  • Cultivate relationships with external ecosystems for co-creation where applicable

To drive outside–in innovations of products, services, business models and solutions while leveraging the partnership’s assets.

• To demonstrate measurable impacts of innovation possible through strong collaboration and alignment of objectives

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Execute onsite innovation processes, including but not limited to:

  • Facilitate ideation phases together with the customer’s innovation resources

  • Provide access to resources within Philips Innovation (R&D, Philips Innovation Services, etc.) and identify landing entities (e.g. business units, 3rds)

  • Drive for mutual project agreements and funding

  • Implement and project manage throughout mutual innovation phases

  • Administrate innovation seed fund and negotiate respective duties under steering committee’s decision.

Secure continuous funnel of projects with focus on co-creation and rapid prototyping of new scalable solution platforms.

Engage business and solution teams and support transfer of results back into the organization.

• Initiate and negotiate open innovation consortia with third parties (academic and industrial), eligible for public funding or venture capital funding where possible.

• Create and maintain an environment in which the innovation partnership is promoted and new business is incubated.

• Provide leadership in prioritizing projects.

Provide leadership in establishing the facts and details of inventions and technical reports (in collaboration with Philips’ Intellectual Property and Standards).

• Representation of projects to internal and external stakeholders on a design level (e.g. spokesperson role to the funding agency or collaborators).

• Author of and support to the writing and presenting of the grant application for public assistance agencies.

• Ensure that all clinical projects are implemented according to international guidelines and regulations, documentations are in place. Ensure MRA or JDA compliance where applicable.

• Evaluate the current market value of projects, budgets and administration.

• Report all clinical projects in Philips’ project portal(s)

• Coordination of the review board (Institutional Review Board - IRB) and Investigational Device Exemption (IDE) approval where necessary to facilitate the program.

Educational qualifications and work experience

• 5-10 years of professional experience after advanced degree in a relevant discipline preferably within the Philips organization (R&D, solutions development or business incubation). Ability to think 3-5 years ahead of what is available today.

• Project and/or Program management skills paired with stakeholder management experience (internal and external)

• Clinical knowledge paired with technical background preferred. Analytical skills to understand unmet needs and ability to manage complexity of solutions.

• Demonstrate entrepreneurship in health tech.

• Leadership and mentoring skills.

• Has a proven track record of academic grants/ private development funding or venture capital. Communication skills (writing and presenting)

• Excellent English language skills, written and oral

• Willingness to relocate and have the work location at a customer site

In this role, you have the opportunity to

Develop and lead innovation partnerships with two of Philips Large Scale Project (LSP) customers in North America. These customers are committed to applied, scalable innovation work with Philips that will result in measurable and material improvements in the healthcare.

This role will sit in Phoenix, Arizona.

You are responsible for
