Primary responsibilities include working alongside the creative team to ensure effective visual communication design. The designer is responsible for executing highly creative designs within the parameters of established style guides and project goals. Collaborate with internal business partners, account management, sourcing, copywriters, developers, photographers, and video resources to deliver visual messaging solutions across varied internal business areas. Marry out-of-the-box thinking with brand/campaign guidelines, while proposing communication solutions through a strong understanding of multi-channel communications.


  • Determine project concept/direction and produce graphic design files that meet high quality standards for print or digital communications

  • Execute design work with oversight from Art Director or Creative Director

  • Utilize professional design techniques to enhance readability and effectiveness of material

  • Develop and present creative solutions in line with brand goals to business partners

  • Participate in creative brainstorm sessions in order to develop conceptual ideas around client objectives

  • Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows and site maps to effectively communicate interaction and design ideas

  • Articulate rationales for design decisions; assure design meets business objectives as stated in creative brief

  • Understand target audience’s needs and behaviors and apply best practices and learnings to design solution and/or user experience

  • Provide photo direction to a photographer and/or select photography from online stock options

  • Partner with the Traffic Manager to meet all design deliverables within an estimated time and cost budget

  • Use and maintain department project management software and track project time

  • Follow best practices as outlined for file maintenance and brand/design asset retention

  • Must be proactive in advancing knowledge of digitally delivered design utilizing web and mobile along with video and animation


  • Bachelor’s degree with focus in Fine Arts or related design focus

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in the creative field

  • Working knowledge of financial services marketing communication materials

  • Must display a technical understanding of electronic files for print and digital output

  • Possess a full understanding of professional design techniques and how to apply efficiently

  • Strong sense of visual ideation and creativity

  • Skilled eye for concept, design aesthetic, color, typography

  • Excellent grammatical, spelling and typographical skills

  • Expert skills in industry standard applications (Adobe Creative Cloud: InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)(Basic knowledge of After Effects and Premiere)

  • Ability to implement supportive script languages (CSS, JavaScript, etc.)

  • Expert in design competencies for print and digital, with experience in video

  • Experience preparing design templates for production use

  • Experience creating infographics that tell a visual story from complex data

  • Strong understanding of UI

  • Front-end development; proficient in HTML/CSS development for web and email applications

  • Experience supporting a wide variety of digital platforms through responsive design – understanding design standards and technology specifications for digital applications

  • Experience creating video and animation with ability to story-board concepts

  • Ability to focus on the customer and thrive in a continuous improvement environment

  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy

  • Present and sell ideas and concepts

  • Ability to multi-task and function in a fast paced, deadline critical environment

  • Must be able to adapt to changing deadlines and work situations

  • Must possess an online portfolio that shows a variety of creative executions with digital media
