POSITION SUMMARY

The Communication Consultant will help drive strategic communications for MassMutual s corporate units including Human Resources, Finance and enterprise-wide initiatives. The candidate is responsible for developing internal communications strategies, presentations, talking points, and other materials of the highest caliber, and will work closely with business partners, including members of the senior leadership team, to identify communication needs and implement effective communication solutions using both traditional and emerging media tactics (e.g., written, visual, video, etc.).

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with business partners, including members of the corporate unit leadership teams, to identify internal communication needs and develop strategies and materials to implement effective communication solutions

  • Serve as key internal communication contact for Finance, Law, Investment Management, Enterprise Risk and Corporate Responsibility, providing counsel and ensuring consistency and quality of communications

  • Support or lead various Human Resources or enterprise-wide projects as necessary.

  • Contribute to the planning and management of key meetings and special events, including preparation of agendas, talking points and presentations

  • Effectively collaborate with communication counterparts in Strategic Communications and other areas of the business (MassMutual U.S., Human Resources, MM International, Customer Experience, Technology, Field, etc.) on integrated communications plans as required.

  • Develop clear and concise written communications for a variety of internal audiences and platforms, including the company intranet.

  • Participate on cross-business project teams as needed/required

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor s Degree in communications, journalism or related field

  • Strong writing, editing and verbal communication skills with demonstrated ability to write clearly and concisely on a variety of complex business topics

  • Ability to interact and influence at all levels of the organization

  • Demonstrated ability to develop integrated communication plans that take into account the needs of various audiences; work with communication partners (e.g., PR, Field Communications, etc.) as needed.

  • Candidate must have the ability to work in the US without requiring sponsorship

  • Support or lead various Human Resources or enterprise-wide projects as necessary.

  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United Stateswithout requiring visa sponsorship

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Commitment to understanding and applying communication best practices and innovative techniques as appropriate

  • Ability to establish and meet deadlines and manage multiple

  • 8-10 years communications experience,with at least five years specific to internal/employee communications

  • Experience with HR-related communications preferred.
