State Street’s Business Segment Head is responsible for actively running and managing a business segment within Wealth Manager Services – this includes responsibility for client P&L;’s, , development and implementation of strategic business plans, running and managing client service and relationship management teams, defining product needs/enhancements, helping drive new business, cross sell and client uplift requirements, supporting sales in new business opportunities, developing and implementing the deployment of cost/process efficient operating models and monitoring of client satisfaction & business health. The position also includes the responsibility to act as a senior client relationship for c suite contacts.

Key Accountabilities:

Business Management

  • Own compliance to stringent Legal, Risk and Regulatory requirements/procedures

  • Own and manage Client Service and Relationship Management teams

  • Engage with client base and develop strong relationships with C level suite

  • Understand the business, align strategic plans with corporate initiatives and drive overall business strategy within the team

  • Understand strategic client needs / strategies and anticipate future client needs and deliver innovative solutions. Keep informed of trends and issues relevant to the business

  • Ensure team adopts a pro-active role in establishing State Street as a partner & key component for client success

  • Promote State Street’s brand visibility to the Wealth Marketplace

New Business

  • Actively work with Sales and Marketing in developing winning new business opportunities within State Street’s desired risk tolerance

  • Manage RM’s support for completion of new business RFP’s

  • Manage CS & RM teams in the client on-boarding process

  • Manage cross sell and client uplift strategies

Financial Management

  • Manage budget – both expense and revenue streams

  • Identify potential revenue strategies, including cross-selling of value added services and products, new products and services as well as product enhancements

  • Manage client contract negotiations and fee agreements

  • Manage client profitability

Change Management

  • Facilitate and implement change / initiatives within State Street, locally, regionally and globally

  • As a member of senior business unit management, actively contributions to team decisions and initiatives, business planning and goal setting

  • Actively participate in industry affairs and keep up to date on legislative requirements and standards

  • Be acutely aware of the changing market and impact on existing and potential client base

Experience, Qualifications, Skills and Abilities

  • Undergraduate degree and/or formal qualifications in a relevant business stream

  • Required 10-12 years’ of relevant experience and demonstrated knowledge in the Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) and or Wealth Management industry

  • Proven capabilities in operational, staff management and client management

  • Proven background in the management of a business or business segment
