Role Overview

The Sr. Product Specialist will be responsible for defining, developing and enhancing DST’s TRAC retirement plan record keeping platform. This person will be a key member of the product management team with ownership of key features and enhancement initiatives within the Retirement Services TRAC product road map.

Responsibilities include conducting market and client research, defining product enhancements and contributing to the development of our product strategy and road-maps.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct client and customer research. Understand their needs and buying behaviors. Define enhancements to address these needs. Be a strong advocate for the needs of end consumers within DST.

  • Work collaboratively with business leaders and our development organization teams to bring new features and enhancements to market.

  • Work with senior management to set and establish product strategies and roadmaps.

  • Collaborate with DST’s technology product development organization to develop and utilize modern product development processes to improve the speed and quality of our execution.

  • Utilize modern product management processes. Be a key contributor to the establishment of improved product development processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or 5 plus years working experience in a product development role within a software development environment.

  • Strong expertise and knowledge of the Retirement Services Industry.

  • Experience assessing client needs and translating them into new and enhanced software features.

  • Experience working in highly regulated industries where meeting compliance requirements is mission critical to the ongoing viability of a firm.

  • Ability to adapt work style to influence change in a diverse business environment.

  • Demonstrated experience making tradeoffs between cost, schedule and functionality.

  • Strong business analysis and product design capabilities.

  • Ability to lead through influence in a matrix team environment.

  • Excellent communication skills, including ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing through presentations and individual discussions with all levels of the organization.
