Duties & Responsibilities:

This position is an UltraFLEX Product Manager who will be reporting to Computing and Communications BU Manager. Location: North Reading, Massachusetts or Agoura Hills California strongly preferred. Other locations can be considered but will involve additional travel.

Role: Develop and implement marketing strategies for the computing and networking segments, including:

  • Develop thorough understanding of technical and commercial trends in the SOC test markets in order to define impact of device technology.

  • Understand current test technology trends and develop strategies to shape the future of test in these segments.

  • Define future products that will result in increased market share and profitability. Gather market data in cooperation with sales and develop product proposals as part of a cross-functional product team which includes applications and product development engineering.

  • Manage the development of specific new products as part of Product Develop team through Teradyne’s Rapid Product Development (RPD) process. Define and prioritize product requirements, and balance the needs of technical capability, time-to-market, development cost and product profitability during product definition and development. Work collaboratively with product development teams to help develop phase reviews and other project milestones.

  • Plan and execute product launch activities, including First Test Of Part (FTOP), First Customer Ship (FCS), product launch publicity, pricing strategy, demand planning, customer ship prioritization.

  • Work directly with account teams for customers in the computing and networking segments to develop account strategies, plan design-in targets, establish revenue objectives for current year and mid-term plan, and set contribution margin targets. Develop relationships with key technologists and managers at customers in the computing and networking segment to provide direct input for new product development and other strategies.

  • Provide continuing product marketing support for released products. Most importantly, taking required actions to ensure that the revenue and margin objectives of the product's business proposal are met.

  • Develop world class support material for the sales organization that explains our product differentiation and strategy. Effectively train and communicate this material to the sales organization and across the corporation.

Evaluation Criteria: The primary measures of success for this position are:

  • Meet or exceed revenue, share and margin targets for the computing and networking segment.

  • Meet or exceed schedule benchmarks for new product definition. Meet or exceed financial targets with resultant product development.

  • Deliver effective segment and differentiation materials, as evaluated by survey of the Field Product Specialists.

  • Effectively drive ongoing cross-functional activities with Engineering, Sales and Operations groups.

  • Develop effective customer and industry relationships

Basic Qualifications, Experience, Skills & Education Required:

  • BSEE required, MSEE or MBA preferred

  • 5 or more years direct engineering experience in ATE product development, semiconductor development or applications engineering

  • 5 or more years direct ATE or semiconductor product management or marketing experience preferred

  • Travel up to 25% both domestic & international
