Description/Job Summary


Directly responsible for Surge Protection-NA product management team.

Responsible for directing product management resources, approved new product development planning and projects, contributing to the development of market and sales strategy, pricing management and tactical plan execution for all product segment scope. The overall function of the position is to direct and contribute to the application of product management resources and team to develop and execute the product management tactical plans in alignment with the respective Division Business Line Plan.


Contribute to the development of a 5 year Product Line Business plan by supplying regional input as requested by the Business Line Manager.

Support the Business Unit GM to develop a two year product line tactical plan that supports the Product Business Line Plan.

Develop, promote and gain approval of one year action plan, including definition of specific and measurable objectives.

Support the annual update of the Market and Competitive Analysis directed by the Division Business Line Manager.

Develop the annual product management budget / plan for all product lines with product scope.

When defined, develop appropriate customers surveys of products and services performance versus customer expectations and benchmark our performances versus competitors.

Direct Product Management action plans to support promotional plans including such as: exhibitions, website development, White papers, social media, seminars, etc…

Chair monthly Product Approval Committee meeting.

Chair monthly Product Management Review Meeting.

Lead and manage Product Managers to develop and drive 2 year BU Product Tactical Plans.

Drive product cost reductions as defined within the product action plans.

Develop & update product action plans.

To support the demand management process with input into the sales forecast on a monthly basis.

Price Management through the application of the Pricing System.

Through support of the Price Policy, update pricing management to support sales actions.

Manage the Pricing Process with the Quotations department and in collaboration with the Sales force.

Support marketing communications actions such as: define and continuously update sales tools (catalog, MOQ policy, Pricing list, product information).

Provide input to Marketing Communication function regarding requirements for collateral, print marketing, and trade shows.

Responsible to support Product Life Cycle management (low volume, obsolete, unprofitable items …) in alignment with Business Line Management.

Develop and maintain metrics and reports to track bookings / billing and standard margin.

Develop internal and external product and application training plans.

Provide support to:

o The BLM on pricing policy

o Marketing Communication function regarding requirements for collateral, print

o Demand management on product line demand trends and significant changes

Manage and update prioritization of Development Projects and the overall Product Portfolio in collaboration with R&D and BLM.

Contribute to the NPDM and Innovation programs by researching and identifying new product opportunities / requirements.

Coordinate, monitor and update progress of all product development projects.

Track new product performance and adjust plan in accordance with market reaction and internal policies. Lead the application new product development management process and the PAC meeting / review process and related activity.


BS Business, Marketing or Engineering: MBA and Engineering degree preferred.

Minimum 5 to 10 years sales and/or marketing experience.

Knowledge and experience in Electrical Industry products and customers.

Knowledge or experience in Circuit Protection Devices.

Demonstrated leadership and project management skills including New Product Development Processes

Strong communications skills – verbal and written.

Strong influencing skills.

Travel – approx. 25%
